Upon our arrival, the staff was very welcoming. We were escorted to our spot by a very nice gentleman who answered all of our questions. The entire KOA was spotless clean and very well kept. There is a very nice pool surrounded by beautiful flowers, a large playground, huge dog park, wifi, and a beautiful lake near by with a... More

This KOA doesn't have a bunch of grass , but so what it has everything else and more. It has a great pool, play ground, dish washing station, good shower and bath rooms, well stocked store and best of all, a great staff. This is the only place I know of that has a 3 Acre dog park. It's a... More

Called while on the road. Very personable and accomidating. They got us in. Showed us our spot and answered all our questions. Bathrooms and showers were very clean. The staff makes the rounds and keeps everything immaculate. One staffer gave us info on our drive north suggesting a stop in Telluride. We're so glad he did.

KOA campgrounds stands for quality. Not always is this the case but KOA Cortez is SUPER and outstanding. Our first idea was to stay at Morfield campground in Mesa Verde NP, but after comparing the price we decided to choose KOA Cortez : much more comfort (laundry, heated swimming pool, clean showers,Wifi, etc) for a few dollars more. We payed... More

We've been here for three days now, with one day to go. We've found most KOA's to be managed by friendly, helpful staff, and this one is no different. The sites are larger than we've seen at most KOA's, and the view...wow! Snow-capped mountains are on one side, with the 'Sleeping Ute' on the other. It's also located about halfway... More

Our first experience of a KOA campground (we've read the reviews on others and generally avoided them) but this place was really clean, service was great, no noise and everything was generally really good. 24-hr laundry, pool when it's not out of season, showers are clean and hot water, and they even have a games room where you can watch... Clean & quiet campground, great amenities (laundry, game room, store), great value. We stayed in Cabin E, comfortable and equipped with a tv and air conditioning, overall a perfect basecamp for visiting Mesa Verde.

We stayed at this KOA in September. There is no grass except on the lower level where no one was staying. I walked my dog there and in the nice pet walk area. There is also a fenced in dog park but it is used by the public with several gates out to the street. The gift shop was really... More

The KOA had the beautiful grounds & ammenities that we expect from this franchise. Clean, secure and well-run. The initial employee was very friendly and helpful but the tenting site options are expensive for a tent site ($28/night) as there was no hookups and the bathroom & water source was a long walk away. The pool closes on Labour Day... More
