If you are looking for a very clean room with a super nice owner to serve as your host but can get along without some of the more basic amenities this motel is for you. If you are looking for luxury and lots of service, keep going. My room had a refrigerator and an old style TV but NO clock,... More

We came to do some volunteer work in Cortez and stayed at the Tomahawk Lodge. We had two rooms. Both were old but very clean. The owner was very accommodating toward us. Love the old neon sign- only draw back is the U turn we have to make to get into motel.

Reading the reviews on TA we gave it a shot. OMG there were abandoned cars in the parking lot. The general appearance was dirty. The room was clean and only one bug in bathroom. My wife was afraid to go out to the car and we expected crime tape when we awoke. The lights on one wall wouldn't work. The owner... More

I had to pause on deciding whether to give the Tomahawk four or five stars because there are some aspects to it that are definitely not five star. The rooms are a bit cramped -- although very clean with everything you need -- the beds are oldish but comfortable enough (if you don't mind a really firm mattress which I... More

This is a low cost, fairly basic motel in Cortez which is the closest city to Mesa Verde. The minuses were that she did not have a no-smoking room available and it is on the opposite side of the town from Mesa Verde. However, good value, clean rooms and the owner is great. Our TV malfunctioned and she carried in... More

good sized room that was spotlessly clean, with fridge and a breakfast of coffee and pastries/muffins.furniture and tv are dated, but not a problem-only want a clean room and bed.prebooked our room,so was slightly concerned on arrival at 10.10pm when mention was made of only holding it until 10.30pm!.(may have misunderstood?-the owners closed up after we and another latecomer checked in and... My husband and I stayed 2 nights at this motel, and enjoyed it thoroughly! Definitely spotless, clean and a pleasant aroma to the room. Aromatherapy is my thing, and this room did not have any odor at all. Just a clean fresh smell. Bed was very comfortable and linens were fresh and clean. As you can tell "clean" is the... More

We needed a quick stay traveling through CO. The owner was just wonderful! She was warm and caring, made sure we had everything we needed. The room we had was spotlessly clean, and comfortable. We thought it would be noisy right off of the road, but it was very quiet, and you could park right in front of your room.... More

This is an affordable older motel. The hostess was very nice and accommodating. The rooms were simple but clean and the bed comfortable. No eating places within walking distance but only several blocks away. No breakfast to speak of but did serve coffee.

A warm welcome by the owner instantly made us feel at home, and the room was absolutely spotless. Unquestionably the cleanest motel room I can remember, very quiet even though seemingly all rooms were filled, and what a wonderful change from dirty, noisy rooms! We slept better here than we did anywhere else on a two-week trip through the southwest.... More
