First, I stayed in rm 1314 (smoking). The king bed was a firm bed and I slept like a baby. The sheets were sparkling clean, but the comforter could be replaced. I needed extra pillows, which were brought to me immediately after I checked in...great service. The bathroom was fine, nothing spectacular, but certainly not horrible. The water pressure was... more

Reconsider your options. This hotel is desperate need of a renovation. The rooms are very dirty. There was wallpaper falling from the walls. The room smelt of mildew. I was seriously afraid to walk around without shoes on. The floors were filthy. I honestly cannot believe that the convention center doesn't step up and make some demands for a renovation... more

Wow. This hotel is very decieving. The outside is very elegant and such, but the inside... oh my gosh. It reminds me of a $20.00 motel room. Awful. clean, but not nice at all. The whole hotel is not impresive once you depart from the lobby. The elevators are what struck me to write this review. If you use the... more

We stayed here many years ago when it was a Hilton. Now it is the same hotel. Same beds, TVs (19") and bathrooms, all old. We attended a convention and had reservations for a king non-smoking. When we arrived at 9:30 am we were told there were no more king rooms and only smoking. When we got off of the... more

I stayed at the Austin for a conference at the convention center. Me, my daughter, and my mom came along for the trip so we booked a double queen room. The room was actually okay. I was a little worried about the hotel since many of the reviews were bad. I could tell that there is remodeling going on. There... more

I am a corporate pilot and stay in a LOT of hotels. I am not one to write a review unless something is really out of the ordinary. Some hotels are good, some are kinda bad. The Austin was REALLY bad. Here are the highlights of the room- -Mold on the bathroom ceiling -Wallpaper coming off the walls -The carpet... more

My husband had a meeting at the convention center, so we stayed at the Austin because it was convienent. The hotel was terrible (at least our room was). Not clean, run down, etc. We went to get into bed and looked down at the floor and it absolutely looked like someone had leaned over the bed and thrown up everywhere.... more

This hotel needs a major renovation. It is very worn. The staff tries very hard, but the results just don't match. The restaurant is dirty. The bed linens are old. more

I just returned home from attending the Mid-South Research Association Conference at the Austin Hotel and it was absolutely terrible. The hotel is old and run down. My room was full of mold and mildew. The wall paper was coming off the walls and the bed was falling apart. The ladies doing the housekeeping looked pretty rough and the staff... more

The hotel has a great staff! The Front Desk emploees were pleasant and helpful. All of the staff gave 110% to make us happy. We look forward to returning in 2008. We'll see you then. more
