This is the first time I am writing a review for the staffs. Amazing people who looked after us as we had come there for one night. They made sure we were looked after well. It's located on a main location so you would find it easily. Comfy beds and clean rooms for sure. We didn't try the food so... More

The Alpine Hotel is a somewhat charming hotel with a European feel. But it needs some TLC. We had a few drinks upstairs by the pool table and dartboard, which looks out towards Gregory Lake. The staff were friendly - the barman even played three games of pool against me.

A room was booked using Agoda for a double. By defualt the booking was for 1. When the party arrived at the hotel, the Hotel refused to accomodate and demanded that full charge be made. If we repayed for double, the rate would have been only US$ 3 more, as per Agoda rates. However, the Hotel demanded that we pay,... More

We arrived in Nuwara Eliya after a 5 hour drive from Kandy. When we got to the hotel we were informed by the manager that our room was gone!!! They informed us that they didn't receive confirmation from our booking site (lie!!). The manager laughed at my complaints and told us he was booked out. After 15 minutes of arguing... More

Have not stated in the rooms so do not know how they are.... Stopped for breakfast and had string hoppers which was very nice.... The person who was waiting on us clearly was very experienced.... Fresh food.... Despite the time at which we went for breakfast.... Definitely worth going to

We had to stay here as everywhere was booked (even in low season Nuwara Eliya seems to be packed) and it was ridiculously expensive for what it was. The rooms were damp and cold, the bathroom hadn't been clean and the buffet was poor. The only redeeming factor - the staff was friendly (but then again, the staff was friendly... More

Had to take the room only because all other hotels were fully booked. They charged us 106$ in August way to expensive and there's not a bit of value for the money. Room was poor, with old furniture, the shower wasn't too pleasant either. It was cold in the room as there was no heating. Won't recommend this place.

It is clean and the staff were nice. The beds were ok and the toilets were clean. However, we were in Nuwara Eliya in December, it was extremely cold and the hotel wasn't very warm. The fire place wasn't always lit, one night we had to light it ourselves and keep the fire going. It was tedious as we are... More
