Hotel is central and has a very courteous staff. Rooms are spacious, but without much character. As this town received rain and gets damp, you can rent a heater for extra. Breakfast was very good, lots to select from, and the dining area is like a huge medieval hall. The one thing that I will sadly share is that a... More

Came here on a tour. First impressions were that the hotel had a quaint English feel. Vintage furniture and a nice feel in the common areas. Our rooms were spacious. Three beds (we only needed 2), nice bathroom, and a small sitting area by the window. Other reviewers mentioned the hotel being near a gas station. At all hours of... More

We had plans to stay there but before we could even ask for a room they already wanted to have money from us to use their toilet. That is not the way how you handle potential customers. After that bad experience we decided to go somewhere else...

The Windsor is close proximity to town and is a great big hotel with spacious rooms. The Windsor is very clean and accommodating. Wifi worked a treat and staff were helpful and friendly in assisting us. we needed to leave early for a hike to World's end and received a packed lunch prior to leaving. Recommended.

The Windsor is a grand old hotel, that would appeal to those who like their hotels to have some character! The public rooms are full of deep leather chairs, and stuffed animals (in the billiard room), and there is a grand dining room, if you have the clothes in your suitcase to spruce up. The bedrooms are comfortable, although the... More

I visited to the Windsor Hotel on June 16 & 17, during an official visit to Nuwaraeliya. Great hotel also worth for the money. Very clean and good helpful Manger and other staff. Always polite and help up to maximum. I traveled with my driver, not like other Large hotels, driver accommodation also clean and good with all other facilities.... More

Our room was large and clean. Outside the room was a garden on the 2nd floor. You were meant to get wifi in your room but there were only a couple of spots in the hotel where it worked. The staff were friendly, but you had to tell them if you wanted your room cleaned..

We ended up at Windsor as Grand & Tea Factory were fully booked and we arrived at Nuwara Eliya on a very short notice. The rooms are spacious and easily accommodated 3 adults, although the rooms could have been maintained better. Our stay was too short in the hotel and cannot find anything to complain other that the hyped room... More

OK so you can't afford the top class colonial places here so you end up in The Windsor! Central for the town but not an inviting situation - overlooking a petrol station. However surprisingly quiet at night. Staff a bit distant. Not a lot of character or atmosphere in the reception/dining/bar areas. My bedroom was spacious with a decent shower.... More

We enjoyed food and drinks on the terrace at the Windsor. All good, until the waiter asked us for about 20% more than bill should actually have been. He never brought us the bill, just quoted the wrong price. When we queried the price, he invented prices for the items we'd had. Only when we asked to see the menu... More
