Our room was large and clean. Outside the room was a garden on the 2nd floor. You were meant to get wifi in your room but there were only a couple of spots in the hotel where it worked. The staff were friendly, but you had to tell them if you wanted your room cleaned..

We ended up at Windsor as Grand & Tea Factory were fully booked and we arrived at Nuwara Eliya on a very short notice. The rooms are spacious and easily accommodated 3 adults, although the rooms could have been maintained better. Our stay was too short in the hotel and cannot find anything to complain other that the hyped room... More

OK so you can't afford the top class colonial places here so you end up in The Windsor! Central for the town but not an inviting situation - overlooking a petrol station. However surprisingly quiet at night. Staff a bit distant. Not a lot of character or atmosphere in the reception/dining/bar areas. My bedroom was spacious with a decent shower.... More

We enjoyed food and drinks on the terrace at the Windsor. All good, until the waiter asked us for about 20% more than bill should actually have been. He never brought us the bill, just quoted the wrong price. When we queried the price, he invented prices for the items we'd had. Only when we asked to see the menu... More

Did not meet our expectations at all. Rooms were poor quality, dirty and without heating. Bathroom was disgusting. A radiator could be rented at 500 LKR per day. When we came home from a full day at 5pm the room was not cleaned and it came as a surprise to the hotel that we wanted this service. Breakfast the first... More

From the mixed reviews here I was on doubt that we will face some bad experiences here. However, from the check in to the check out we received excellent service and we really enjoyed our stay. Hotel is quite huge than what is seen from outside. It has 50 rooms and three floors as I can remember. medium size lobby... More

Dinner and breakfast are set menu.In the restaurant service remember us the British era serving style.Enjoyed the food.If you need room heater you have to pay LKR 500 per night.Good value for money. I visited Windsor hotel in February ,2014 with my family. This is place we always choose to stay if we travel to Nuwara eliya since about 7-8 years. It is an old but comfortable hotel .Its situated very close to Nuwara eliya town, so you can always walk to most of the destinations within city limits(super markets/restaurants/bus stand/banks/post office). It does not have...
