We got especially dressed up for this afternoon event, needlessly so it turned out. We managed to get the best table by arriving early and don't rely on seats remaining reserved if you are late. High Tea was incredible with a delicious array of small treats served which became the high light of our stay and made it our focus... More

This hotel was wonderfully nostalgic and old- school. On arrival, there is a piano playing. The hotel is so large you need a map to work your way around. Very comfortable and traditionally decorated but wifi only in public areas.

Nice front garden view and great British style hotels designs. Room is ok. Not much special except the artificial chimney (heater) feels something different . I dislike the most is wifi nor Internet available in the room. Nowadays we need to carry out various of tasks through Internet, so inconvenient that we need to be at the lobby to do... More

It's a superb nice colonial building with very good service and good location. The surrounding garden is excellent. the pub and the tea room are excellent areas. The bath is old, it should be completely refurbished, and the hotel is not prepared for the cold that usually exists in Nuwara Eliya, either in the common areas of the hotel or... More

https://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Sri-Lanka/Central-Province/Nuwara-Eliya/blog-895677.html It is a 4 star hotel with a fabulous old Colonial building. The room 249 in the old wing is a quadruple and large enough for 2 adults and 3 kids. The old wing is not so modern and luxurious but has a good charm about it and is very big and comfortable. The rooms are very clean and... More

We didn't stay at the hotel but we visited for high tea one afternoon - the food was excellent quality and the setting was lovely, with the restaurant opening up onto a garden area that you can sit in weather dependent. Wifi free and fast too - always a bonus when you've got emails to catch up on!

The Hotel is located in one of the finest locations of the city. Its stands at the end of a magnificent line of stately cypress trees - just across the sprawling Nuwara Eliya Golf Course. its coveted location alone sets the hotel apart from the multitude of hotels that dot the town. Once inside, hotel still retains much of its... More

We did not stay in the hotel. We just went to visit the coffee shop and the garden. I'm simply writing this review to say how delicious the food was. It was absolutely to it's standards. The capo chino👌🏻 And the garden was very clean. In other words, spotless. We hope to stay here the next time we visit. Thank... More

This was previously the home of a British governor of Ceylon. It is beautifully maintained to reflect this era. Our room was excellent although facing a service area roof but it also had views into the hills. The food was excellent with good coffee - hard to find in a nation of tea drinkers! The gardens were meticulously maintained so... More

Beautiful hotel and the staff was very friendly and was just amazing. Had a wonderful weekend. And we'll for sure come back again. The Barnes hall buffet was so good. And team there is superb. The rooms should be a bit more luxurious. Other than that everything was awesome.
