Secluded but lovely atmosphere ,at first glance, you would think its a house but nope. Rooms are simple but classy , but you would be looking for the fan and aircon ,then you would realise its too cold for the 2 electrical items . Service is fast & good. Food is good . Language spoken is English ,if you don't... More

We arrived here after travelled by train from Kandy. It was really good with some quietness after the noisy traintrip. As the hotel is located in the forest there was not much noise. Just a few cars and two gunshoots! The rooms were ok and since this hotel is High up in elevation there were no problem with heat. Even... More

As Nuwara Eliyja nice, so this hotel bad. Smelly, dirty, cold noisy, outside the city in the middle of nowhere, no possibility to have a walk or spend a minute on the bank etc. And our experience in so called Duke' s restaurant - so dirty tables etc. I've never seen before. The quality of the food was ..... not... More

Stayed for just one night with a small group tour. After reading some of the reviews I wasn't looking forward to it, but have no complaints at all, apart from not being able to change Aussie dollars. Our room was on the second floor overlooking the road and vegetable farm opposite, which was a very pleasant outlook. The room was... More

We visited Sri Lanka in 2010. Galway was an average stay with compact rooms. The food was average too and cleanliness needs to be taken care of. The hotel is situated in d interiors which makes it a nice and peaceful location.

Nuwara Eliya is a nice place and known as the Little England. While taking me to the hotel we had a great expectation and but I never expected a hotel on such a location can be so worst. Before I write my comments I strongly recommend a reputed agent like Aitken Spence not to promote such hotels through them as... More

I do realise that this part of Sri Lanka is cooler than the rest of the country, it being higher, but the hotel really shouldn't have been as cold as it was. We were given a small, plug in heater in our big room and it looked like it needed replacing 10 or more years ago. In fact, we didn't... More

It's my first time in Nuwara Eliya. The place is cool, lovely atmosphere. But I arrived Galway Forest Lodge, I can tell this is an old hotel and hasn't been refurbish for quite sometime. The room smells old -- carpet, table, bed, etc looks old. There is a difference between old and being rustic -- and this is old. The lousy... More

I stayed at Galway Forest Lodge for two nights and found it really pleasant and enjoyable. Room: My room was on the second floor and faced the main road, across which was a farm growing vegetables. The room is cosy and nicely furnished, with three plush armchairs and a table by the window. The room comes equipped with a flat-screen... More
