This is basically a concept hotel. A tea factory of British times has been converted into a leasure hotel. This has been also rated as one of the best 100 places in small luxury hotels to be with. There is a problems with vegerations here since what the prepare is mostly non-veg. more

A converted tea factory into a hotel? - fantastic! Great friendly staff, quirky building throughout. good food. beautiful location within tea plantations. yes a pot-holed road to get there, but its part of the experience! very cool and breezy when we visited (end of may)- bring a jumper! Half the hotel was closed for renovations on our visit so cant... more

The hotel has some breathtaking views from every room. To add to it there is a history to it which gives it special charm. Standard room with 2 kingsized beds was extremely comfortable for families with kids. We were travelling with 2 kids aged 4 and 2. The hotel was a complete entertainment for the kids with a little play... more

We never imagined that such a place can exist where you can directly touch the clouds ! It's situated amidst the lush green tea gardens of Nuwara Eliya on the top of on of the highest mountains. The place used to be an old tea factory which has been skillfully converted into a beautiful heritage hotel. The location is just wonderful!... more

The rooms, service & food is good. Its very refreshing & on the top of the Hill. The roads are too bad to reach the hotel. You must hire a good saloon car & should not travel in a mini bus. They converted a tea factory into hotel. Its away from the city. more

We stayed one night in the Tea Factory whilst touring central Sri Lanka. The surrounding hill country is stunningly beautiful and well worth a diversion from tourist hotspots like Kandy and Sigiriya, but the Tea Factory hotel is possibly not the best place to stay in the area. In theory it ought to be a great place to stay: a... more

As already reported the 4 km track up to the hotel is a disgrace. The hotel which we were expecting great things from due to it being unique was very disappointing. The food and general service was very average, the room we had was good but we overlooked a service area which was very noisy. The history of the place was also disappointing... more

Our group (5 people) spent there one night. We still regret that we haven't chosen at least several days in this hotel. The panorama from the balcony was amazing! Surrounded by tea plantations stay in such quietness was good relaxation from noisy beaches in the south. We hadn't known that we could pick tea there, dry it and bring home.... more

First stop on our Sri Lankan tour. A lovely hotel with great views, beautiful gardens, lovely rooms and an ancient, old fashioned type lift (where you pull two gates open to get in and out), lovely food and pleasant staff. You can watch the tea pickers as you have breakfast and visit a small tea sorting factory as you walk... more

we visited this hotel as part of a tour of sri lanka. the journey to the hotel was a bit daunting, it's a very steep hill and a long way to the top however the hotel makes up for this. the hotelis a converted tea factory which has been completed to a very high standard. on arrival we were served... more
