On our journey from Kandy to Yala National Park we decided to do a bit of a de tour via the Heritance Tea Factory for afternoon tea. The view from the factory was incredible and the factory itself was intriguing and beautiful particularly inside. The staff were friendly and helpful and we sat over looking the tea plantation with our... More

We travelled all over Sri Lanka and this was my favourite hotel. It is just so unusual you will never see a hotel like it. The night time buffet was by far the best we had in Sri Lanka and the most reasonably priced. They had an Italian theme buffet on the night we were there and it was lovely.... More

I wanted to get a break from work stress and boiling weather condition. I stayed with my mother this April, the location was surrounded by the mountains and hotel is far away from busy crowded towns/cities. Hotel interior and architecture is unique and its one off experience I had staying there. Staff is friendly offered us their fullest support to... More

Adding to other reviews - I have to praise the 1 hour tea plucking tour operated by the hotel at the charming little tea factory. I believe it's open to external visitors as well. The staff dress you up with traditional clothing (beautiful Sari for the ladies) and off you go with a wooden basket to pluck the leaves for... More

We stayed at Tea Factory just before Christmas in 2013. The atmosphere was great. The entire staff were friendly and were committed to providing a wonderful service. We had a great time from start to finish. The food was great and the choice of food was excellent. The rooms were comfortable but the only drawback was the shower. The rooms... More

This tea factory-cum-hotel is a long, long way away from everything but it’s well worth the long drive. The restaurant offers both western and local dishes – all delicious – and the service is excellent. The building has a great deal of character: original woodwork is preserved wherever possible, everything is in very good repair, very clean and comfortable (they... More

You approach this hotel through a number of tea plantations and along a very long and bumpy lane. The inside of the lobby is a testament to its previous industrial heritage, and includes a old two door sliding lift. The rooms are basic, but clean, although the bathrooms could do with a bit of modernisation. There is no pool -... More

Very special hotel! The atmosphere is great, it's very special to have so much history in a hotel. Lovely setting, in the middle of tea plantations. Good staff, the room is nice but nothing WOW, I must admit the carpet floors are not my thing, they give and "old" impression, but other than that, good room, comfortable bed and great... More

We enjoyed the stay and the views from out the front were amazing. A pool would make a massive difference as there wasn't much to do outside but the space and views were so good it was a shame to miss spending loads of time out there! The room we had was ok but we still found it quite hot... More

The staff was super attentive and polite, the area was stunning, the rooms comfortable although there was 3 of us so I had a cot to sleep on which wasn't the most comfortable, but the stunning scenery, the charm of the hotel, the peacefulness, staff, more than made up for the small cot! Thank you!
