Very authentic look, looks amazing from outside and red carpet makes it even more attractive from inside... Room is nice and clean... Furniture is bit old... Got amazing heat pads... Breakfast has only two options... Got great discount from agoda.. Amazing deal for off season... About 60 odd USD per night... Location is just perfect... Near gregory lake, by walk... More

The Hill Club is pure nostalgia - it reeks of the Raj - but with impeccably maintained standards. Little in the way of furnishings in the public rooms has changed over probably 60-70 years. We were only there for lunch so can't comment on the rooms. We had lunch in the huge dining room. It was a little cold so... More

The location is beautiful and the accomodation is truly colonial style. Beautiful gardens and the chalets we had to stay due to having young kids was well kept. The most disappointing aspect was the food. It's extremely tasteless and the chef definitely doesn't have a good understanding of western food preparation. I wouldn't return just for that reason.

Had a great stay here. The food was absolutly fantastic. The staff were also great and the garden is just beautiful. I will most certainly be back to this hotel when I come back to Sri Lanka. Well done to the GM and staff !

Hotels like this are hard to find now a days in Sri Lanka. This is an old club from the time the British ruled Sri Lanka. We absolutely loved it. The food was fantastic and the gardens are beautiful with many kinds of flowers. The rooms are comfortable and its a great place to stay when in the hills of... More

We enjoyed nuwara eliya a lot. This hotel fitted beautifully into the environment and the garden filled with flowers and English charms. It was like staying in an English manor. This hotel is right behind the grand hotel so you can walk and enjoy their thai and indian restaurants. The hotel had lots of rooms to sit and enjoy. We... More

The Hill Club is set in beautiful surroundings. The building itself is impressive and the grounds are lovely and well maintained. But, to me, it was something of an enigma and appears to be suffering from an identity crisis. It is clinging desperately to an era of the past - an exclusive colonial club for the well-heeled, which is completely... More

Exactly as described a traditional English Club hotel full of memorilbilia from the last 137 years. Lots of traditional, fantastic service, our North Suite was lovely, large, old world perfect for our stay. Great location, excellent Wifi and fair to good food. Had dinner at the Grand hotel Indian restaurant it was excellent and in great demand. Get there early... More

The Hill Club at Nuwara Eliya in the high country of Sri Lanka should be on every historian's bucket list. It has an old world charm that is sorely lacking today. The refuge of tea planters for over a hundred years the Club has imbibed their spirit and it oozes colonial charm. Spend time looking at the pictures in the... More
