The room and the entrance Hall are a bit smelly. But overall its clean. There are thick blankets so its not too cold in the night. If you call the Guesthouse you can get a much better price than with booking.com.

Located not too far from the city center, it is a nice walk distance. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are ok, basic but sufficient. Doors and windows do not really closing but act as natural ventilation. We extended from one night to two since it is on there and we were out most of the day. Bathroom to improved.

Me and my girlfriend stayed at the Royal Mount Guest House for 3 nights overall and had a great stay there although they could do with improving their staff situation. We were given a double room ($30USD) with an ensuite bathroom (hot shower) as well as a nice thick quilt which was very necessary for the freezing night time. Our... More

During our trip in SL, this was the worse guest house. Good thing is that is close to Mc Gregory lake which is nice to see. Second one is wifi. Regarding cleanliness: towels were dirty and had bad smell, sheets had black marks. Table for eating was the dirtiest thing in the house, so the food can't taste good. Jam... More

This is a very reasonably priced guesthouse. We paid $25 per night, which included breakfast, and for this we had a huge room, double aspect, and an adequately sized bathroom. The room was clean, and the room rate included breakfast. The staff, Dilipu and Eshan, looked after us as if we were family (we are mature travellers, and probably the... More

Made reservation through Booking.com for $25++ per room but owner changed it to $30++ Room was basic and damp. Bed mattress was lumpy with 3 out of 4 of us getting bed bug bites. Shower was hot and tiled. Was put off breakfast when we saw jam mixed in with butter from previous guest. Friendly staff but not good value... More

Stay there for 2 nite. Enjoy our time there. With very friendly host and cook. They even prepared a very nice home ccook for us. It is next to a hill that give us a very nice hike up and view the surrounding tea plantation.

Royal Mount is a small little gueshouse (4 rooms only) on Haddon Hill Road, between Single Tree and Tea bush hotel. Royal Mount was a pleasant surprice for us. Cheaper than most other places on Haddon Hill road (I think we paid 2400 Rupies), the rooms are clean and ok and share a big balcony, there is hot water and... More
