This is a haphazardly built house with odd décor and limited facilities. We booked this hotel because of the okay reviews and views, but upon arrival, we were given a room with a small window that looked out into a wall. The bathroom had no toiletries or toilet paper and small little towels. Due to the location on top of... More

We stayed over one night at this place and the experience was terrible. The prices charged for the rooms were unacceptable as each room including the washrooms were so different from its sizes and its facilities. The staff were not hospitable at all. The food was ok. The atmosphere of the place was eccentric. The prices of the food were... More

The place is pretty basic and the decor weird. Think Sri Lankan neo rustic disco. Not at all in keeping with the "English" theme of Nuwara Elya. We stayed for a night and it was a satisfactory stopover but I would not recommend for a longer stay: difficult access, bathrooms iffy, and seriously damp as NE is rainy and cool... More

My wife and I spent a night at the MountView Cottage and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Laurence the owner is a very friendly and interesting man who contributed to the experience. He made a pot of tea and brought it to our room on arrival. The hotel is a little difficult to get to and not very well signed but... More

We stayed only for a single night at MountView cottage. However, it should be noted that the access to the hotel was so bad and the road to the hotel could accommodate only one vehicle at a time. but, it's not a fault of the hotel. Then the staff was really helpful and the breakfast was also nicely prepared and... More

An acceptable hotel and we stayed for 2 nights. The staff were good and concerned. We arrived late night and staff made sure we were comfortable. Very cold in night (winter season) and no heaters available. The mountain view is available only for few rooms, choose accordingly. The breakfast was included in the booking. Quality of food was okay but... More

Very cheap, nice room and great view. The food was really not delicious, and is a big downside when the hotel is outside the city. The room smelled damp, and everything felt a bit moist. Overall good for what we payed, but the food really was a let down.

The staff were very welcoming the essentials for staying in this exciting region is there a bed and shower to help you recover from the walks and adventures you will have. The.staff are happy to cook and serve the food to your room. the tea is from the local tea estates.

This hotel is nothing fancy, but it's perfectly acceptable. The view is beautiful, which for me is one of the main reasons to visit Nuwara Eliya in the first place. Our room had a nice little balcony where we could have enjoyed the view had it not rained most of the time. Breakfast was good, we got both English and... More

The rooms in this place are alright and clean. The gentleman in charge was just so friendly and kind. Sadly our boiler broke down. The manager offered access to another shower but we just braved the cold water. The accommodation is in the vicinity of a Buddhist temple so the chanting at 5 am can be a nuisance for light... More
