This hotel is nothing fancy, but it's perfectly acceptable. The view is beautiful, which for me is one of the main reasons to visit Nuwara Eliya in the first place. Our room had a nice little balcony where we could have enjoyed the view had it not rained most of the time. Breakfast was good, we got both English and... More

We were there on March 23rd, 2015. We booked via internet a deluxe room for 2 nights, 8500 rupies per night. What we got was - at first sight - a nice room with a good view - but without wardrobe or anything else to put the clothes. We asked two times if we really got the deluxe room, and... More

The rooms in this place are alright and clean. The gentleman in charge was just so friendly and kind. Sadly our boiler broke down. The manager offered access to another shower but we just braved the cold water. The accommodation is in the vicinity of a Buddhist temple so the chanting at 5 am can be a nuisance for light... More

This is the coziest place to be in Nuwara Eliya. The location and the scenery are wonderful (you can have your breakfast overlooking the tea plantations). The 2 km walk uphill are definitely worth. Otherwise there is always the possibility to hire a tuc-tuc (very cheap). The host has a trusted tuc-tuc driver who is very reliable and a really... More

MountView Cottage offers great views of the surrounding hills and tea plantations. It’s located at the end of St Andrew’s road (on the hills side). Taking a tuktuk is better than a car / van because the last 500m up the hill is really windy and narrow. A tuktuk to Nuwara Eliya city centre costs around Rs 100-150 (Feb 2015... More

We stayed at the Mount View for one night and it was wonderful. It was quite rustic just perfect for a hotel in the mountains. The room was clean and so was the bathroom. The staff was so lovely and helpful. The manager, a very nice man, is always around to respond to any of your needs in the best way... More

Perfect place to get cozy and stay indoors. It is on top of a hill and hence offers a great view of the mountains and the town. It's a bit cut off from the rest of the town and you'll need a tuktuk to go down the hill and reach the main centre. We stayed here for one night and... More

This hotel is located about as high as one can get above the town, and all the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. However, it is quirky, and is on several levels linked by a single tiled staircase, with pseudo concrete mock wooden handrails, though they are not handrails in the accepted use of the word! The restaurant and kitchen... More
