Any hotel after Tea Trails was going to be difficult to give marks to but Amaya Langdale was deserving of a high rating. The location was excellent with very well maintained gardens, although the putting green could have been cut. The room had everything a discerning traveller would want except for the lack of a shower stall. The hand shower... More

We stayed in Langdale for 2 nights mid way through our 10 day trip to Sri Lanka and the slowing down of pace was welcome. This is a beautiful boutique hotel, very English in nature set in the middle of the tea plantations in Nuwara Eliya. The gardens are immaculate with a blaze of colour from various flowering plants and... More

My husband and I stayed at Langdale by Amaya for two nights of our honeymoon and we received exceptional service from the moment we arrived. The staff were so accommodating and hospitable and had even made us a special 'happy honeymoon' cake! The gardens are beautifully maintained and the hotel is surrounded by stunning scenery of tea plantations. A perfect... More

Stayed at the Langdale for 2 nights (Feb 18th and 19th 2015) and had an amazing experience. Although it is not in the town of Nuwara Eliya itself, the drive to the hotel is relatively painless. The hotel grounds are beautiful and the views are breathtaking - totally worth it! The gardens are lovely with roses blooming everywhere. The hotel... More

We stayed for one night only but booked the luxurious room which has a balcony ( most rooms do not have balconies!) - the views are just breathtaking! The hotels infinity pool is an added bonus. However, it is further away from Nuwara Eliya than we expected and we found the menu prices in their only restaurant overpriced (you're looking... More

I read some of the previous reviews & wonder if we visited the same place. This is a new place and has zero atmosphere at all. It's the sort of place where people feel they need to whisper in the restaurant. Don't go anywhere near the restaurant in the evening as we had 2 terrible meals there. Really bad, honestly... More

This hotel is suited to people who like the hidden gems, who like very personal service, and who are ready for a change from the endless buffets. Classic English style, topped off by high tea. The rooms are very generous and the Langdale has all the amenities of the bigger places without the hustle bustle. Many come to do the... More

Let me begin by explaining that I am British but I was brought up in Sri Lanka. My wife is Sri Lankan. We both live in Dubai these days only a short flight from Sri Lanka. So as you might imagine we are both seasoned travelers throughout Sri Lanka and are very passionate about the many virtues it has to... More

although this is only a small hotel , the views and colonial feel made this stay memorable. The staff were very helpful and the complimentary afternoon tea was a nice touch. There is a small swimming pool, tennis court and spa but we found our time just sitting in the pool Looking at the tea pickers all around. A stay... More

The views are the making of this hotel, standing on the balcony watching the ever changing light and weather across the rolling tea plantations was a highlight of our trip. The pool is also a refreshing dip in the beautiful fresh cool air, plus of course the view. The hotel does have a nice old colonial feel, including high tea... More
