We arrived late and had no online booking, but the nice people at Sherwood Cottage referred us to Wasantha, the King Fern Manager. He was kind enough to offer us a room for two nights and also provide free accommodation for our driver. The house looks beautiful, the rooms are basic but comfortable. I don't know why people complain about... More

I stayed here 3 nights. The cottage is a little old and needs to be refurnished, but the rooms are clean and the view is great from all sites! The owner is very helpfull and you can ask him everything. Also the food is fine. I had dinner at the hotel once which was good. Now here's the thing: the... More

We stayed here for 2 nights because there was a mix up with our accomodation a few doors down. The owner and staff were very friendly and accomodating knowing we were dissapointed with a last minute change. As mentioned by other travellers it is basic, however in my opinion it does need work. The bathroom should have a ceiling in... More

It was a family trip, and we stayed there for 2-days 1-Night. The staff were always smiling and willing to help. The rooms were clean and warm and Mr.wasantha owner was very co-operative and supportive, kind enough. And, always there when you need any help or guidelines. Highly recommended! Plus, point is the property is located at nice view point... More

After winding our way through the narrow streets to the guesthouse on a cool and rainy afternoon, we were delighted to receive such a warm welcome from Wasantha and his staff. The sun soon emerged and it was all uphill from there! No request was too much trouble for them, it seemed, and even three nights seemed too short as... More

Nuwara Eliya marked a fabulous start to our Sri Lankan sojourn and it was largely due to the stay at King Fern Bungalow. The stunning city views from balcony, immaculate lawns with blooming flowers, sumptuous curries and the perfectly brewed tea - all made this place truly memorable for us. Special mention of the hospitality of the owner, Wasantha who... More

We stayed at Spring Garden (formerly King Fern Bungalow) for 2 nights, and were very impressed by the property, as well as Wasantha's help and advice. He arranged a driver to take us to Adams peak, as well as visit local waterfalls and tea plantations. Excellent rice and curry, and beautiful view. Highly recommended.

The view is probably the best in town, the prices are good considering the scarcity of decent accom in Sri Lanka's popular spots these days. And Wasantha the manager is a character and a big help with anything you want to arrange. The hotel itself is wonderfully quirky in design and layout, and the room is absolutely fine. Yes, it's...
