We stayed at this place for two very enjoyable nights. As requested, we confirmed our reservation before arriving. We got a family unit - wonderful two rooms suite, and another double room. We had a problem with the shower and it was tended immediately. The owners were very welcoming and the food was excellent. One morning we left at 6am... More

I really don't like posting bad reviews but felt I had to own up to my terrible experience here. I know I wasn't alone in this, since all the other guests agreed we received dreadful service. Firstly, when I called to confirm my booking, the owner had given away the room to someone else and said he had forgotten my... More

As there were a couple of negative reviews we doubted whether we want to go here. No regret; we were picked up at the train station, got some thea at arrival, nice rooms, lovely beds, extremely kind hosts and good food! What else could you want? Good weather, for us it was too windy and cold to stay another night,... More

We stayed here last night. We had 4 rooms, all doubles. Everything satisfactory for 3000 Rs per night. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The rooms we had were all very dark and dingy but the restaurant area was light and airy. Food very average.

This is my second visit to King Fern Bungalow and it was just as amazing in fact even better as Chitara his wife was doing the cooking and she is a fantastic cook. We enjoyed a spicy pork curry and it tasted even better in the morning with roti. The room was lovely and clean with thick blankets and even... More

Traveling around Sri Lanka with visiting family, we were looking authentic, comfortable and not-too-expensive (as Nuwara Eliya can be). And we found it. Arriving at King Fern Bungalow, we were welcomed by Wasantha, who was very helpful, cheerful and welcoming. The bedrooms were spacious though a bit worn down, but clean and with very comfortable beds. One bathroom had a... More

Based on the good Tripadvisor reviews we were looking froward to staying at King Fern Bungalow. We were disappointed. We met the challenges of actually finding it and of not being hustled into paying more than was previously agreed (be wary of this) and we were quite happy with the position high above town (we like a challenging walk and... Stayed 3 days in the Eagla's Nest, top point of the guesthouse, with a balcony looking out onto the beautiful nuwara eliya town. Room is small but clean and cozy and with an amazing view. Although bathroom is not in the room, it is only 3 steps away, so this is not a problem at all. The owner and his... More
