An old British style hotel in walking distance (5 - 10 min) from the center of the town. The hotel has a lovly garden were you can enjoy a glass of wine or a "Lion". The food at the place is very good. However the bar and the restaurant was cold, but there was an electric owen in our room.... More

A wonderful Colonial mansion from the outside. The (very few) staff are great but fighting a loosing battle with insufficient investment. We checked in as 3 couples, Two couples had to insist on changing rooms. The first couple, with mould / mildew all around the ceiling...a horrible smell. The second couple who at first thought they had a good room... More

From the outside this hotel looked magnificent- an old colonial hotel but it is need of some serious TLC. The downstairs reception and communal areas were not too bad but our bedroom just seemed grubby. Although the sheets were clean , it was not a pleasant experience . The staff were helpful and the breakfast satisfactory but overall I would... More

My first night here was not a good experience, Very old hotel made all seems scarier ... Its a hotel my package provided... its already 300years built , the floor made from wood, and start to be broken piece by piece.the garden outside was not a good choice to relax I just warn all people that the safety box didn't... I booked for 3 nights in May 2014, but checked out after the first night. Don't make the mistake of going by the dreamy pictures of misty mornings at Ceybank. That's just an eyewash. The hotel is located right by the road...traffic noise is pretty common. The hotel is old, rooms musty and service pretty lousy. As soon as we... More

Historical building Special empirical atmosphere – big room with tea/coffee maker and extra table with chairs Very supportive staff – organized taxi to the Horton Plains and the railway station Nice dinner in the restaurant, a fire would have warmed up the room we felt like the special quests of the British Governor!

The building COULD be beautiful. I must say the staff were very pleasant and the dining room men were more than kind. Food was ok, even for a vegetarian. The only reason that we stayed was that our driver was no where to be found! Everything else was dirty and needed to be thrown out ten years ago. It was... More

We reached this property around 6 pm and it was getting dark. The property from outside may look ok, but the rooms are pathetic. It is nothing close to colonial. In the name of old heritage they have broken beds, a 12 inch tv, old mattresses, broken wall lamps etc. the minute you enter the room it looks like a... More
