Went here for short meal, there is no entrance through lake side, we had to come through the other way. Location is awesome, not clean at all, looks like a canteen, not a tourist restaurant at all. Very bad service, they don't even greet you. Cashier was professional and assisted, but not even one steward. They have employ trained and... More

Special thanks for Robin who's working at reception. Seems food over prized and equal to 5 star hotel. overall food taste and quality is good. Stayed 2 nights (July 27th... More

This was our 2nd visit for the past 1 year.We spent around $70 for a poor meal. Quantity was not enough for a child and took so long to prepare the meal. Highly overpriced and not worth at all. I would not recommend this place to anyone, better try a star class hotel in town rather than going here when... More

Food is not worth the money you pay. Substandard menu and prices are highly over priced which are much more pricey than Colombo 5 star hotels. Soup of the day was a knorr vegetable soup which they charge USD5. Taste was very poor and quantity is not enough for a toddler. Will not recommend this place to anyone. Best is... More

The large rooms are pretty and designed in an antique way. There is a fireplace in every room and if you request ahead (with additional cost), the staff will bring you all the supplies. There isn't a fan/AC since the weather over there is cold and rainy. The fireplace helped us to stay warm but just for a very short... More

The location was lovely. We would have loved to sit out for dinner but it was too cold and we moved in after just 10 minutes on the lawn. The waiter, a pompous guy who asked too many personal questions and behaved like he owned the place, kept walking off before we could finish placing our order. We never figured... More

The location was great. The bread was excellent just like they claimed. The pizza wasn't bad. The prawn biryani and the lamb was good as well. A very nice place to have lunch. The price was average for the quality of food that we received. Must do in the area.

From the Governor’ Chalets kitchen comes a range of French Baguette and cuisine that transport you to the heart of France with just one bite… from freshly baked baguettes to soft, buttery croissants, you and your taste buds can indulge in a course of gastronomic delights never enjoyed before. Having carefully practiced the art of “Fusion Cuisine”, Chef Gnanathilleke and his team have mastered the fine art of adding a Sri Lankan touch to the already scrumptious cocktail of exotic herbs and blended flavours used for all of the dishes with a selection of fine wines to enhance the unique flavours. Bon appétit. ... more   less
