Having stayed for 3 nights at the Trevene, I must say that the services were very good. As we arrived quite late in the night, it was nice to be welcomed by the hosts themselves. A place that embodies the colonial style and friendly sri lankan hospitality. The front garden is quite a spectacle with a view of the Victoria... More

We stayed here for 1 night. We were welcomed with tea, which was nice. The room was large but there was no bed net despite visible mosquitoes and the furniture was basic. There were some parts of the room that felt a bit dirty. However, they were friendly and a nice fire was lit in the evening in the lounge.

Bit of a funny place but we came away very pleased we stayed the night here. We found it cute and cosy, though it is an old building and worn in places. The hosts were exceptionally warm and helpful. The home-cooked dinner was an old-school affair shared with the other guests on a communal table.. something I would sometimes try... More

Stayed one night here and would genuinely recommend it. Not the cheapest place (4 of us paid 8000 rupees/£20 for one room) but worth the price. Clean and well furnished room, extremely friendly staff, open fire for the evening and included in the price a lovely breakfast sat on the lawn in the morning sun. Not the cheapest but if... More

I called the Trevene from the train station hoping to get a room. The receptionist explained they were full but could take me to the sister hotel (next door to the Trevene) for R 3,000- WiFi included. I was disappointed that I couldn't stay at the Lonely Planet's Top Choice thinking it was also the same price, however I did... More

I have no idea what you talking about as I have rooms starting from $40 per night including breakfast and all taxes. 500rps for the breakfast with 1 fresh juice, toast butter/jam, egg(fried, scrambles, omelet etc..) Banana, Tea and Coffee is a quite good breakfast, but of course if you are use to the 100rps local cafe, this won't suit... More

The Trevene was wonderful. My wife and I had such a lovely time in Nuwara Eliya during our honeymoon. Special mention to Nisa and her group of wonderful staff who made our stay very comfortable. We'll be back soon! :)

This hotel was listed and recommended in the Lonely Planet rough guide at 2,000 rupees. We ended up paying 7,500 for a very basic room facing the back, in need of renovation. The staff was pleasant, the location lovely, but the Trevene is definitely overpriced.

We stayed two nights, the staff were all really friendly and the food was good. Room was big, although a bit dated. Location is good, a 5 minute walk to town, but far enough away to be quiet. At night they light the fire and people sit around the fire and talk. They also arranged tours for us and the... More

The Trevene is a quaint building in a beautiful garden but the interior falls well below the standards of the other hotels westayed in on our trip to Sri Lanka The hotel is in need of refurbishment and up dating internally. The reception area is drab and needs better lighting. We stayed in room 104 which is directly off the... More

We were welcomed with a tea. Nice and lovely house, a bit outside the main road but within walking distance from the City, in a quiet location. The house is very well maintained, the garden is a nice place to relax. The rooms are big, and bottled water is provided in the rooms. The breakfast is ok (fruits, eggs, tea... More
