We arrived here in the off season without warning to the hotel and few people appeared to be here. We saw one couple on each of the two nights we stayed. Perhaps this explained why there were no fires or heating given Nuwara Eliyas can get quite cold in June. A fire in our room was 700 SRP extra and... More

I stayed here for two nights with a group of friends. The owner, Nisa, and her family were so welcoming and accommodating. We hadn't booked and Nisa took us in allowing us to share the two big family rooms at the front of the hotel. The rooms were lovely with a colonial feel and good big bathroom. We enjoyed a... More

I have to admit after reading reviews on here I was a bit wary about staying here. Travelling alone with 3 small children, from the moment we arrived we were made to feel totally at home. Toys were produced, cups of tea offered and good advice about where to eat dinner (they were not serving in the hotel that night).... More

We booked on the basis of the lonely planets review and are a bit disappointed. The place is reasonable enough and the owners friendly but it wasn't quite the cosy getaway wed been led to believe. The first night the fire was lit in the communal living room, which was a nice touch, but the second night it was colder... More

My husband and I booked here for two nights. When I called to book, I asked for a pick up from the train station which was refused. I would've paid, wasn't expecting it to be free but it was a no. I had booked the room with a fireplace and ensuite bathroom. When I asked what was included, she said... More

Thank you for taking your time to write a review about our property. I must agree that we were painting the building and the door of your bathroom was also painted that morning, which was absolutely not a big deal as you only came in the afternoon when all the paint was dry but I admit the building had the... This house is beautifully situated with a magnificent garden . The staff running this accommodation are very friendly and polite . We were sleeping in two connecting bedrooms with a shared bathroom . The rooms were really nicely presented however the bathroom was appalling ! Cleanliness seemed to be an issue here along with safety ! It's a first for... More

We stopped in this hotel based on the recommendation we found in Lonely Planet's travel guide, which named Trevene as the top choice. Very misleading, I believe. Trevene is definitely not among the cheapest hotels in Nuwara Eliya, however the level of comfort and facilities is lower than in many of the HOSTELS I have stayed in before. We took... More

Trevene is a sweet family house, clean, comfortable, and the food is simply the best I had during my trip. Recommended & will definitely be visiting again, lovely staff, helpful, polite, professional. A feel of home, thank you for the lovely stay!

Having stayed for 3 nights at the Trevene, I must say that the services were very good. As we arrived quite late in the night, it was nice to be welcomed by the hosts themselves. A place that embodies the colonial style and friendly sri lankan hospitality. The front garden is quite a spectacle with a view of the Victoria... More

We stayed here for 1 night. We were welcomed with tea, which was nice. The room was large but there was no bed net despite visible mosquitoes and the furniture was basic. There were some parts of the room that felt a bit dirty. However, they were friendly and a nice fire was lit in the evening in the lounge.
