You feel like at home, as an old house converted in a guest house. The owner was very nice, spacious room with fireplace ( it didn't last long time), nice bathroom. Located very close to the city center

For us, Hotel Trevene was great. We had the family room at the front complete with fireplace. Yes there was a marked difference between the two rooms that make up the family room (one very grand the other very much an add on), but we really enjoyed the hotel's general 'feel' with never ending requests for cups of tea met... The house is very authentic, proper old colonial house with lots of history. It's now own and run by a very nice lady and her family. The staff was extremely kind and helpful with everything we needed. Food was home-made and very tasty. Also the location was very good.

We had a lovely time in The Trevene. The staff Raj and Wiki made our stay really special and personable. We found several nice things to do around town and also hung out drinking tea on the verandah and the garden, which were completely delightful. They made us a fire in the evening in our room. We had a small... More

The Trevene Hotel was our life saver in Nuwara Eliya. We were able to move to The Trevene after a bad experience elsewhere and the staff made us feel so welcome and warm. We got a big room with it's own open fire and a bath. It opened off the dning room but this was not a problem. We ate... More

Average. Old room, tired, basic. Cold. Bathroom in disrepair. Breakfast basic. Location not the best. I can't recommend it. Not even the price was attractive. It is backpacker accommodation and there are much better (and not expensive) options in Nuwara Eliya. So, avoid it unless your budget and tastes are for backpacking travel.

We arrived here in the off season without warning to the hotel and few people appeared to be here. We saw one couple on each of the two nights we stayed. Perhaps this explained why there were no fires or heating given Nuwara Eliyas can get quite cold in June. A fire in our room was 700 SRP extra and... More

I stayed here for two nights with a group of friends. The owner, Nisa, and her family were so welcoming and accommodating. We hadn't booked and Nisa took us in allowing us to share the two big family rooms at the front of the hotel. The rooms were lovely with a colonial feel and good big bathroom. We enjoyed a... More
