If you want to try a colonial hotel without overpaying for it, this is the place to go to. The rooms are big, and the staff is extremely friendly. We had take-away breakfast, so cannot comment on the restaurant.

This was perfect for our overnight stay in 'little England'. Big rooms and a building oozing colonial charm. The gardens are beautiful and the bar and log fire perfect touches. Lots of hot water in the evening but none in the morning but that was the only issue. I would recommend this place for sure.

We booked two rooms (No 1 & 2) - both were good. We didn't try their food. I would not hesitate to visit this place. Overall experience was good. This hotel was certainly better than the other mid range hotels that I've visited in Nuwara Eliya. PROS: Rooms were kept neat, the washrooms were clean. Cable TVs had good selection of... More

I was on my way to Nuwara-eliya with the intention of meeting my friends there. I actually got lost and couldn't find my way to the hotel I was originally booked into. After driving around Nuwara-eliya town, exhausted, I ended up at Glendower Hotel. There was only a single room available and my fiance was supposed to join me later.... More

Only stayed one night but it was lovely. It is a beautiful old colonial style with nice big rooms and friendly staff. We had a drink in their very atmospheric bar, enjoying a chat with the bar man who showed us the 150 year old billiard table upstairs. Although the restaurant was a bit lacking atmosphere as we were the... More

One of my most memorable stays in Nuwara Eliya. Glendower is a small seven room hotel, but with a homely feeling. Amazing colonial building and furniture, superb services by always attentive staff. The food they serve in the King Prawn restaurant is a delight. To have a cup of ceylon tea in there beautiful garden is a cup to cherish.... More

This property is at very good location . Old British colonial bungalow converted into a very good hotel .Staff are friendly and cheerful . Only problem I found was with bathrooms.Taps were leaking and is very old and out dated. There is too much scope of improvement in it.Garden facing rooms are very good.I had breakfast there which was simply great.Liked... Nice colonial hotel conveniently located in the middle of this town, within walking distance to the market place and Victoria Park. They do have a Chinese restaurant on premise. Grand Indian restaurant is also nearby. Nuwara Eliya being a small place, food options are very few. I found this hotel is very convenient in terms of location and food options.... More

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel. The outside of the hotel is very pretty with a classic look and beautiful flowers and garden. The rooms on the other hand need some refurbishing. The rooms are a bit small and you can hear people talking or walking by outside of your room. The good thing was that there was not... More
