King Fern cottages is just outside town and a beautifully designed place where you feel immediately at home. Rooms are clean and there is a variety of choices. Staff does it utmost to answer your needs. Sitting on the balcony with a cup of coffee is a real treat. When we were on our way to the trainstation to leave... More

Nuwara Eliya is spell bindingly beautiful. It has real character and charm and we completely fell in love with it. King Fern was the perfect place to stay here - clean, cosy and very chilled! Food is amazing. The owner is a complete dude, we hung out with him and his friends at night singing and playing instruments. If only... More

I would stay here again. My advice would be to book early and ask for one of the rooms up the back with a better view. Staff are friendly and the music is sweet. Also scorchingly hot water which is what you need up in the hill country. Would advise against the rooms directly under the restaurant if you are... More

We stayed over New Year's Eve and had such a lovely time. The staff and the owner were incredibly welcoming. It's in a great location, right beside the golf course, the 5min walk into town has a beautiful scenery with all the course and colonial buildings. The surroundings are beautiful set amongst the first with a little creek running through... More

We stayed here 2 nights and loved it despite there not being too much to do nuwara elliya. Definitely the best place and best value we found in Sri Lanka. Great owner and other staff, very laid back and friendly with no screwing anybody around. Cosiest room for the cold nights in this place.

My partner and I really enjoyed our stay here. The hosts were wonderful- always friendly and cheerful and so helpful and knowledgeable about the local area and transport connections. The restaurant area was lovely with an open fire; we spent Christmas here and the hosts really made the guesthouse look festive. There was a Christmas tree and decorations in the... More

So beautiful and Cosy. The host was an amazing guy with great stories, a peaceful outlook and a very caring and efficient staff. Our room was actually quite romantic and spacious. Hot water is always a bonus and the location is close to perfect. Not to mention the food is forever fantastic. Highly recommended.

We only spent one night up in N'urelia and were very positive surprised about this warm and very comfortable place to stay. the wooden atmosphere of the cottage fits perfect into the height of this lil' village. The friendly staff will make your day: if hiking, mtb, tea plantation or whatever you're up to. they'll arrange what u like ..... More

We traveled from Unawatuna to Nuwara Eliya by taxi on the first day of 2014 (so this review has been long time pending, and I finally got around to completing it). It was a long journey and we'd been travelling all day. We left Unawatuna in the afternoon, and arrived at Nuwara Eliya at night (at about 10 PM). Unfortunately,... More

Great place to stay, from the food, made in a real clean tidy environment and very authentic, to the water feature that runs through the place, real chilled and relaxed environment, And the owner Nishantha is a top guy very welcoming and hospitable, and I'll defiantly looking to see what I can do about sorting you an AllSaints Denim jacket...
