Stayed here 2 nights in a very comfortable room. It was clean, fresh linen and lots of needed blankets. Our room had a private little porch with a stream running underneath and a view of trees and shrubbery. The staff were pleasant and helpful. It is located awhile away from the main town but it is an easy walk. Really... More

We are traveling for a month in Sri Lanka with 3 kids (9,7,3) many of the places we planed on staying have been pre arraigned however the place in Nuwara Eliya was a bust we called around and found this place. It was clean the staff was fantastic and great with the kids. The rooms were very interesting not your... More

This was one of best places we stayed in Sri Lanka. Only a quick 5 minute walk from town past the golf course, leads you to this this almost tree house like accommodation, but fancy. With a roaring open fire, hand crafted furniture, this place has an cosy feel about it. The room we had was good, almost in the... More

Of all the guest houses I stayed in in Sri Lanka, King Fern Cottage was by far the best one. Helpful and friendly staff, spotless clean rooms, and above all the wooden structure that adds a unique atmosphere. It's a little bit off the center of town, but it doesn't really matter.

This is a great place to stay! We stayed 2 nights in a cheap attic room which was big and comfy. The food and breakfast is good and location is fine an quiet. THAT was especially good since there was a very noisy festival going on in town when we were there so it was good to be away from... More

The common living area is splendid: wooden furniture and very cosy patio. Common TV available. Friendly staff. Easy to get to know other travellers and talk with them. Wifi available (3 kinds: even possible to skype with people at home - fast line). Very dark room, mold in the shower, electricity light in shower. We unfornunately didn't have any water... More

The place is perfectly located, just a short walk from the city centre and is designed brilliantly with clean rooms, massive beds and a cool garden to relax in. The rooms have gone up in price unfortunately over the past year or so but it is still an interesting place to stay. If I was travelling I wouldn't budget to... More

We tried to book to King Fern and had several strange telephone exchanges. In the first, my wife called, and was replied that there are no rooms available. She had a strange feeling about the call, so, due to the lack of other suitable hostels in town I tried to call again 5 min later. Then, miraculously, there was a... More

I strongly recommend this place! The owner Mr. Nishantha will warmly accept you and make you feel home, just like you've been known each other for years. He'll also gladly help you with anything you need including information, tour booking etc. The place is fancy, beautiful, clean and safe and in a short walking distance to everywhere you need -... We stayed at kingfern for one night only. The place is a stylish and cosy place with a warm atmosphere! The food we ordered was delicious. The owner of this place is a fun and warm-hearted guy who took very good care of us when one of my friends was unwell and needed to go to the doctor. He drove... More
