We have just returned from spending a week in the Kuramathi Coconut Village, booked through First Choice. We have nothing but praise for the hotel - room, service, food all exemplary. Our room was on the lagoon side; the beach here ticks all of the "tropical paradise" boxes with palm trees, white coral sand gently shelving into turquoise sea. Our... more

We visited Kuramathi last year, travelling on a tight budget, and booked about 2 weeks before departure through Teletext Holidays, on an all inclusive basis, staying in a standard bungalow. We flew with Monarch, who I would avoid if possible (although we always seem to end up flying with). We were delayed (as always) in Gatwick for about 4 hours... more

This was our honeymoon after getting married in sri lanka the week before. If you do something similar make sure you go to sri lanka first because you'll only be dissapointed if you go here after kuramathi. Don't expect to do anything apart from be one with whats around you and maybe your partner!! We only got back last week... more

What can I say apart from AWESOME! Our 1st trip to the Maldives we spent the 1st week on the Atoll Explorer which I thoroughly recommend the service was 2nd to none as there were more staff than customers. Dived from the boat which was very well organised & we saw loads including sharks & turtles. Thanks to Jackie our dive... more

This is our second stay on this beautiful island and have to say it has changed considerably since we were there 7 years ago. The number of guests has increased significantly but it is still a wonderful place to relax. We booked with Kuoni who are excellent and flew with Emirates who we thought were poor. We had used First... more

We was expecting a horrible flight with Monach, but it wasn't that bad the leg room was fine for us and if your under 6 foot i wouldn't worry about it too much. The 90 speed boat transfer was horrendous on the way to the island and over 50% of the passangers were either being sick or on the verge... more

We flew out on the 18th May for two weeks, and I have to say this is one of the best holidays we've been on. A total relaxing getaway! We upgraded on Monarch, but to be honest this was a total waste of time and money. We asked for window seats when we booked, but didn't get them. When we... more

We had a thoroughly enjoyable ten night all-inclusive holiday at The Village on Kurumathi Island. Two glitches did not spoil our stay. One of our suitcases arrived about six hours late due to the seaplane's weight restrictions. A couple of days later we had a few unwelcome guests - cockroaches. Despite spraying, the problem persisted and we moved to another... more

Fabulous place!! Stayed All Inclusive at Kuramathi Village from 25th May to 1st June 2008. Booked through Kuoni, just my wife and I as my parents had whisked the kids (10 and 8 yrs old) off to visit friends at a farm in Wales for the week - our first holiday alone without them! I read a lot of posts... more
