I arrived around midnight by a driver sent by Bali Eco Stay, so my initial impression was delayed until morning. When I woke up in the bed in the loft (I was staying in Buddha), it was as if I were still dreaming. The stream was bubbling outside, the birds and bugs were whistling and buzzing, and the chaos and... More

John is a great guy committed to eco tourism, and has made this a great resort for nature lovers. With waterfall as the pool, fruits plantation and paddy fields as their backyard playground. Healthy foods such as raw and vegetarian foods are available at the restaurant for the health-conscious. Keep a lookout at night for the fireflies hovering around your... More

We stayed here for just 2 nights. As soon as we arrived, we knew that we would not want to leave. We were right! It is incredible and inspiring to see what Jon and the team have created here. As someone interested in permaculture, nature and most things eco, it was a fascinating and inspiring place to be; a really... More

Firstly, I'm going to start by saying the photos on the website simply do not do this place justice. Have you ever been somewhere where your camera simply can't capture the beauty of the place? THIS is one of those places. Now the beauty is just the tip of the iceberg… Yes it's remote, romantic, activity filled and beautiful. (BTW... More

Drop whatever you're doing and come here. Now. For a recharging of your batteries and immersion into the Bali that lies beyond the commercial coastal strip it is hard to imagine a better choice. Everything just works together to produce a fabulous experience. Gorgeous location, beautiful people, excellent food and to top it all a great underlying philosophy which values... More

This place is amazing - you are immersed in an incredible piece of Bali that feels like all of the island must have felt once. The beauty of the location, home-grown food and hospitality of the hosts all add up to an incredible experience. We loved every minute here and will be back.

A fantastic, hidden oasis that is definitely worth the 2 hour + drive from Denpasar. Tucked away from anything else, this is a great way to immerse yourself in the true landscape of Bali and enjoy local hospitalilty and discover a true Balinese village and its people. The retreat style atmosphere of Bali Eco Stay means you can do as... More

I work for Australia's largest environmental not for profit and am delighted to say Bali Eco Stay exceeds in its environmental credentials. But it goes further - it offers eco luxury. My accommodation was simple yet stunning, the food organic and delicious, and the activities on offer for my children were local craftspeople teaching wood carving and kite making. John... More

Just amazing, Yes paradise revisited, Each time I just breath in the mountain air, love the sound of wind in the trees, water rushing through rice paddies and laughing people. Welcome is unforgettable by charming hosts and staff, lovely fresh foods, all just a delight. Perfect.
