We ate the best food in Bali here. The grounds are perfectly landscaped and maintained, our room (the Lotus House) was gorgeous, the treks were fun and we loved Putu, our guide. It was a pleasure to spend some time there and see a more authentic Bali. Don't hesitate to add this to your Bali itinerary.

The BMR is a wonderful getaway. Completely away from the tourist centers of Kuta, Ubud, or Denpasar, the resort offers a quiet and intimate view of Bali. The staff provides escellent service with a smile. The TA reviews are on the mark, well-prepared Indonesian food, great views, in a intimate and relaxing setting.

This is my 3rd time staying at Bali Mountain Retreat. Nothing compares to what this mountain transcends - a place to clear the mind, be inspired and get those creative juices flowing. The retreat is surrounded by immaculate gardens & scattered with traditional teak-houses that are cleaned daily. Food is always fresh, delicious & delivered with a smile. :) I... More

We are currently in our third day at the retreat and have loved our stay so much that we couldn't wait to review it. To get to the retreat we were picked up from ubud by a driver, arranged through here, who took us to pura luhur batukaru, a gorgeous temple in the area, a short walk via rice paddies... More

Most places in bali are having additions or renovations and there is constant building noise. This place was the exception. There are several types of accomodation - up market ensuite on the lower level, teakhouse ensuite and shared bathroom. I took the shared bathroom teakhouse sunrise facing with magnificent view and wonderful included breakfast on a 5 night package. Excellent... More

Beautiful mountain property, gorgeously decorated room. Meals were delicious and plentiful. Spa treatment was nice, and we liked being able to trek into the rice paddies and bike down the mountain. It is a bit of a trek to get there. If you are a solo traveller, it might feel a bit lonely or you might get a little bored,... More

If you are seeking a nice, quiet, relaxing and authentic place in Bali, here you are at the right location. The retreat is both very clean with all modern amenities (incl. wireless connection), and also a taste of traditional Balenese way of life. You will have direct contact with Balinese staff, who will answer to all your expectations, learn how... More

My wife and I spent three great days at BMR in mid-April and can't recommend it more highly. We had heard great things about the place and did some great hiking in spectacular intact forest (not much is left in Bali), walked to rarely visited temples, and experienced an incredibly beautiful off-the-beaten-path part of Bali. As a birder, I was... More

Very peaceful; a great chill out place for a few days. Interesting walk with guide to rice fields. Saw and sampled an abundance of different fruits picked straight from the trees. Delicious. Rooms comfortable, quiet and clean. Staff friendly and efficient. Food is tasty and well cooked, although the menu is a little limited. I guess it needs to be... More
