We had a lovely stay in the Darmada which is beautifully situated next to a river. All the staff were friendly and the food was delicious. We were also impressed with the number of local initiatives (teaching children, employing locals, recycling/composting). Highly recommended.

Very relaxing and beautiful site with a all-time atmospheric noise of the river. No Aircondition needed because of water cooled area. Less mosquito than expected. Very nice staff and owner. Try the cakes and kopi!

"The real Bali" is probably one of the most overused tourism marketing terms, but I'm guessing it doesn't get much closer than this. At least during off-season - we were here early May and were told the area (Sidemen) gets almost a bit crowded in July/August. Anyway - it was an oasis of peace for us after escaping Kuta and... Right in the midst of the very scenic Sidemen, Damada occupies a huge tract of pastoral land. It is more than enough to enjoy the natural beauty of the place. Sited by a fresh clean river with a small stream running through it, it is the sort of place where you can just let go, relax and let the magic... More

I loved everything about Darmada. Our room was a delight - simple but beautiful, with a front and back terrace. There's no tv and no wifi, so bring some books and hang out at the restaurant relaxing and taking in the amazing scenery. Try the delicious carrot cake! We did a few walks on our own and a guided rice... More

Welcoming, Quiet, except for the sound of water, clean clear flowing water, in front of our rooms sitting on the back veranda or as I walked over the bridge above the creek from the room to the restaurant, views and sounds of the river, sights of rocks and boulders I felt I was in a magical secret place. The owners... More

Absolutely lovely place - far away from the trafficjams and other nuisances that now unfortunately have become a part of Bali. Just peace and quiet and views of beautiful ricefields. Set in a very nice garden, where you see pineapples and jackfruit grow , the rooms are set on a small river and decorated with patterned tiles, I loved them... More

My husband and I stayed at the Darmada for two nights and it was such a great experience! The room was spacious, with its own terrace and balcony right next to the natural stream. I loved the outdoor bathroom! You have to get used to having bugs around but I really enjoyed the experience - it felt great to be... More

We spent a couple of nights at Darmada and wish it could have been longer. The moment I entered the property, I knew I was in for a treat. The gardens were spacious and lovely, and the little ponds were delightful with koi and water lilies. The pool looked inviting, but we didn't swim. I also had a $9 hour... More
