The Hanging Gardens Ubud hotel is a great place to stay. It's tucked away in the jungle right outside Ubud, with peaceful surroundings and amazing views. The villa itself had a comfortable bed, a nice indoor and outdoor shower, a large outdoor seating area, and an awesome infinity pool overlooking the valley. It was probably one of the coolest setups... More

My wife and I stayed at this beautifully located spot in June 2014. We stayed for 4 nights, a nice villa with private pool. Both my wife and I have visited the wider Ubud area quite a few times over the past 10 years, but first time to stay at this particular property. Overall, our experience was genuinely a bit... More

Me and my wife came for the astonishing double-layered pool and it was amazing. One of the best swimming pool we have ever seen! we went down to the bar and pool area for an afternoon coffee and snacks, even though the price was expensive but the breathtaking scenery and relaxed atmosphere really worth the penny.

The hotel is nice and quite, panoramic pool villa is gr8t. The pool can be heated with extra $50/day but they heated only to 29' Celsius which is still cold. Very expensive to book excursions or taxi or even massage in the hotel. So do any excursions in Ubud. Companies like Sobek but little expensive, also Banting cycling, and Sari... More

Spent a Lon weekend here and I absolutely loved the location, he service, the food and of course the pool! I stayed at one of the panoramic view villas which had it's own small pool for privacy and with a view of the Balinese temple across the river and the forest. Spectacular. Booked a yoga session before breakfast which was... More

More a review for people planning to go to the hotel and pay entry to use the pool. (There was a news article in Australia advising there is a $10USD entry to use the pool.) They NO LONGER allow this to non-guests and i totally understand. If i were paying $600+ for a hotel, i wouldn't want to share the... More

Hi wheredoilive, Thanks for writing this and apologies that you made the trip to our hotel in the belief that you would be able to swim in our pool. That article in the Sydney Morning Herald was wrong and has now been corrected. The stone block in the pool can be used for daybeds during the day and romantic dinners... More

This is a lovely hotel and a great deal of thought and planning has gone into making a resort, built into the side of the jungle, possible. A two-tier infinity pool, perches impossibly from the side of the main complex, overlooking an ancient temple – the photos take themselves really! The rooms are large, clean and contain everything you could... More

Yes the pool is awesome but everyone says that..... so lets enjoy the rest. The GM met us on arrival and we saw him 3 other times during the stay so some very personal care. The food was exceptional and the chef even made us dinner off the menu, which was a treat. The location of the spa is very... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hidden deep in the natural beauty of Bali's rich rainforest, this luxury 5-star hotel has 38 private thatched villas, each with its own infinity pool. The hotel, with its stunning and much-lauded twin-level cascading pools, overlooks rich jungle landscapes and the holy Ayung River, with an ancient temple opposite on the other side of a spectacular plunging gorge. Hanging Gardens Ubud offers supreme luxury and ultimate privacy combined with five star service set to the sounds of chattering monkeys and native birds. The hotel's renowned Beduur Restaurant serves exceptional dishes with Asian, Western and Mediterranean influences, using indigenous herbs and spices grown in the neighboring village and freshly-caught fish from Jimbaran Bay. A pair of funiculars take guests through the jungle to the terraced levels of the property. The verdant gardens were designed by landscape architect John Pettigrew and incorporate local flora and fauna such as cocoa and coffee trees, which blend serenely with bamboo, flame trees and orchids to create a unique tropical paradise. The truly luxurious Ayung Spa uses local ingredients and ancient techniques, combined to create beauty therapies and treatments that soothe the mind, rejuvenate the body and energise the soul. Most of the staff come from the local village, which the hotel takes great care to support with programs such as the planned new library for the village school, which guests are invited to contribute books to. If you are looking for a the ultimate jungle escape, then come and let us create it for you at Hanging Gardens Ubud. ... more   less
