The views from every spot of the resort are simply gorgeous. The service impeccable, the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Our only complaint is the cold water in our dip pool. Being in a beautiful valley, the temperature is kept nice and cool - including the water in the dip pool. Other than that, the resort is world class. From... More

This hotel is absolutely stunning and designed to make you feel like you are in another planet. The natural beauty, charming room (each with a private pool), the brilliant massages and breathtaking views are enchanting. In terms of other facilities the hotel has an exceptionally top class restaurant, sensational swimming pool (the best in the World) and great concierge. I... More

The location provides amazing views from rooms and poool. The pool is for sure one of the most beautiful pools on earth. Now...why the builders of this resort forgot to install a proper heating system is beyond my undersating. The climate in Ubud is warm during the day and cold in the evenings, far from appropriate for cold pools. Also... More

Villa with private infinity pool, with fabulous view. Quiet, relaxing. Do get a massage here as it is very good. They provide a free shuttle, but only until 17.00, which is a shame, but it is easy to find a taxi if you want to go to Ubud for dinner (about INR 150 000). Well worth the cost.

This place is simply gorgeous, the hotel itself is amazing and there are no words to describe the view. The private pools in every villa, the main pool, the restaurant, everything was perfect. All the staff were extremly helpfull and kind. A 10 out of 10 for this wonder in Bali.

We stayed in family suite on nights of 15th and 16th of July. It was great suite with small pool attached to it. The hotel is built on the mountain and surrounded by great greenery, river and perfect tropical atmosphere!! The infinity pools on two levels are the best we have ever seen.. However hotel should consider installing heating system... More

We stayed here for four nights in July 2014. We had the panoramic villa. As someone who normally doesn't book hotels in Asia that aren't part of a big chain group, I can safely say that this hotel is probably among the best I have ever experienced. The location is stunning, and the fact that this hotel could even exist... More

Had an absolutely fantastic time here. It was lovely to be able to get away from the hustle and bustle of busy party central Ubud and return to a tranquil relaxing place, surrounded by all this nature. But yes, wished they offered more shuttle bus services. Staff went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay there, giving ample... More

Its a nice small hotel.. amazing view and swimming pool. The management need to pay attention to the quality of the amenities (soaps, shampoo, etc), the gazebo's sofa seem to have molds, when it rained it leaked outside.. with the price they are charging they really need to make an improvement otherwise its not worth the value..

While I am very fond of Ubud and of Bali, this stay at Hanging gardens was especially beautiful. The setting is lovely, amidst lush green hills. The infinity pool is a remarkable sight, and a lovely swimming experience. Though of course, we ended up doing most of the swimming in the tiny pool in our villa which had fabulous views... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hidden deep in the natural beauty of Bali's rich rainforest, this luxury 5-star hotel has 38 private thatched villas, each with its own infinity pool. The hotel, with its stunning and much-lauded twin-level cascading pools, overlooks rich jungle landscapes and the holy Ayung River, with an ancient temple opposite on the other side of a spectacular plunging gorge. Hanging Gardens Ubud offers supreme luxury and ultimate privacy combined with five star service set to the sounds of chattering monkeys and native birds. The hotel's renowned Beduur Restaurant serves exceptional dishes with Asian, Western and Mediterranean influences, using indigenous herbs and spices grown in the neighboring village and freshly-caught fish from Jimbaran Bay. A pair of funiculars take guests through the jungle to the terraced levels of the property. The verdant gardens were designed by landscape architect John Pettigrew and incorporate local flora and fauna such as cocoa and coffee trees, which blend serenely with bamboo, flame trees and orchids to create a unique tropical paradise. The truly luxurious Ayung Spa uses local ingredients and ancient techniques, combined to create beauty therapies and treatments that soothe the mind, rejuvenate the body and energise the soul. Most of the staff come from the local village, which the hotel takes great care to support with programs such as the planned new library for the village school, which guests are invited to contribute books to. If you are looking for a the ultimate jungle escape, then come and let us create it for you at Hanging Gardens Ubud. ... more   less
