Highly Recommended. I am a businessman who has stayed in many hotels and this is one of the best at any price. Large comfortable, suite with full kitchen and balcony overlooking the Towson University campus. Ample free parking garage. Near several good restaurants and Starbucks. Nice breakfast buffet. Friendly and helpful front desk staff. Quiet. Minutes from freeway and Goucher... more
The truth of the matter is that if you traveling with a family there is no better hotel in the area to stay at. The renovated rooms are fantastic. They are clean, the balcony is safe, and everything is complete Marriott quality with them. The two real downsides to the hotel are the elevator situation in that they are quite... more
A nightmare! I am a Marriotts Rewards Customer and frequent Marriotts, however, I am embarassed that I booked this "upscale hotel" thinking that the Marriott name stood for quality. This hotel was a Senior Citizens Home( really) prior to the ongoing renovation of a FEW of the top floors. I literally did not take my shoes off, (filthy) sat on... more
Yes, rooms are big, but dingy. My room had sliding glass doors leading to some roof... I didn't feel safe. Kitchen was ugly. Hallways smelled. I didn't dare to eat in the restaurant. more
I stayed at this hotel for a conference in August 2007 and found it to be adequate for business purposes. My "room" was actually an enormous one-bedroom suite that included a kitchen (complete with coffee maker, oven, stove, microwave, full-sized fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washer/dryer), a dining room living room combo with a small outdoor balcony, a large bathroom, and a... more
My husband, infant son, and I just came back from attending a conference held at the hotel and based on the previous negative reviews, I was wavering between expecting the worst and not expecting very much. I was very pleasantly surprised by the rooms. Granted, the rooms could use touch-ups here and there (e.g., paint, repair, linoleum on kitchen floor),... more
This is not a traditional Marriott hotel where a standard level of quality and service can be expected. Apparently, it was formerly a nursing home, then dormitories for the university located across the street. All of this is very obvious by the design of the rooms and lack of attention to detail. You don't know how bad it is until... more
Huge rooms (used to be student dorms I think). BUT no room service. So if you want to eat in your room (few other options locally) then you have to go down to the bar and have your dinner passed to you in plastic containers to take up in the elevator in a plastic bag. Classy! more
My husband and I stayed there as part of a wedding group. We loved the king bed and the spacious suite. Ever time we were in the lobby, the front desk staff used our name, which wasgreat. Had a wonderful breakfast saturday morning, a grea deal for less than $10.00. Their restaurant is under renovation, but looks real spacious and... more
