Nov. 2013, room was the Sunrise, on the beach: The hotel has beautiful grounds and landscaping set in an area where there are locals fishing on the ocean side of the hotel and rural farm life on the other side of the hotel. We found it not only interesting but exciting to live with the local population and watch how... More

A beautiful small complex within a working village..Comfortable bungalows, lovely warm pool and a very good restaurant...This was our second visit and we were not disappointed. The village people are most welcoming and friendly and not once were we hassled.

Beautifull intimate boutique hotel, we loved staying here. On the street side you find chicken running around, families working and hanging around their houses, and some local shops. On the beach side you find the fishermen's boats, and in between the beach and the road is this beautifull hotel. Flowers everywhere, 2 beautifull pools, great room with outdoor shower. Very... More

I stayed here with a friend after spending a week in Nusa Dua for a conference. “Life” is a perfect little oasis of calm and tranquillity – you really feel that you are seeing the authentic side of Bali while still enjoying luxurious facilities. The bungalows and pool area are beautiful and the beach is right on your doorstep. We... More

We had 3 days and 2 nights here and stayed in the Paradiso Villa. The rooms were designed beautifully. The beds were Bali style and slept very well. Sunrise over the beach was unobstructed and amazing to watch. Snorkeling point is right off the beach in front of the resort at high tide. You get into an organic rhythm in... More

Just spent 3 nights at Life in Amed and had a fantastic time. The food was excellent, the staff extremely helpful and friendly, and the cottages were perfect. Amed is a peaceful and lush location away from a lot of the excesses of tourism. It was good to enjoy some of the more traditional aspects of Bali life, such as... More

We were a little dissapointed by this hotel after reading all the reviews on here. We arrived about 3pm in the afternoon after a long drive. We were shown to our room which was the Paradiso Villa. The room was 2 storey bungalow setup, it was right by the beach but badly setup in my opinion. The Sari Sunrise bungalow... More

Wow....apologies you were so disappointed with Life in Amed....the Paradsio Villa is the larger of the two that are directly beachfront, 2 storey dwellings..I built this for myself and my son, so have had many good times there and many families enjoy the extra space the Paradiso provides. There is a comfortable living room, rattan furniture, paintings and brightly coloured... More

life in amed is a good quality stay, good rooms, smallish pool, good service and food. it is set on the shoreline. you may say that being on the coast is ideal with all the boats lined up but .. try to get one of the owners to take you on a trip around the bay, forget it. they tell... More

Hello...wow 2 bad reviews back to back, so I feel like it's time to respond....overall your review states GOOD several times, good quality, good rooms, good food, good service....so I am glad you experienced the hospitality of my staff and overall had a good time with us.... except for the fishermen, yes, they have a collective, so they can all... This place is blissfull. We spent 5 nights here in October and it was a wrench to leave. We had bungalow 5, which can sleep 4, with 2 beds in upstairs mezzanine (not suitable for toddlers as stairs are large and open with gaps instead of risers). This chic, small hotel is nestled amongst local fishing huts and goes straight... More

We spent two nights in late September and could have easily stayed longer were it not for flights. After some major resort time it was a relief and delight to be in a small hotel that is right on the beach and right in a village that is not solely reliant on tourism. You are really part of the life... More
