I really enjoyed my 3 night stay here. I wanted to stay close to where I could walk barefoot to the beach and go snorkelling. From my room to the reef (shorter to the beach), maybe 40 metres. First day I swam with 2 turtles, the 2nd day one more. The rooms are not luxurious but they are comfortable. Maday and his staff were absolutely amazing. They went well out of their way to make my stay memorable including a sunset sail on Maday's boat (fee). There are yoga classes across the road and massage studio 100 metres walk. A perfect end to a 16 night stay in Bali.

Rented snorkeling equipment for an amazing snorkel right outside the place, got amazing massages from local ladies that ended with a nice braiding of the hair ( and bought fresh made coconut oil for the hair and skin from them ) and later took a quick dip in the pool!!! Amazing place and staff... very clean and in a really good place in Amed for snorkeling and options for food, shopping and diving!!!

Best accomondation we had in Bali! It is a small hotel with very beautiful Bungalows directly at the beach. Rooms have aircondition and a very comfy bed. My girlfriend and me stayed here for 4 nights and And I habe to admit these for nights have been the best in Bali. Pari the owner is very passionated and loves his job and his hotel so much, you can feel that all the time. Giving you good recommendations and helps you with everything, you have a question or something bothers you, just go to pari he will solve it for you. This whole hotel is operated from him and his brothers, a very strong family bond between these brothers, which qualifies this hotel to one of the best around in Amed. Every morning you will be served (in my opinion) the best pancakes and best egg variations you can think of, a very rich fruit salad and a really delicious tea or coffee. I eat a lot and normally I am not satisfied with the included breakfast but this time everything was so different, you could feel it was made with love. Just around the corner a temple lies deep in the water, the hotel offers snorkling gear for rent for a very cheap price. One day Pari even invited m to his boat for fishing, he loves his place and the sea as well. He goes out every morning at around 5:30am and takes his boat out to the sea, it is his way to relax and calm down. It is not very common that hotel owners share their private passions and hobbies with hotel guests but Pari was very happy to have my company. We caught a lot of fish and he even let me try the fresh fish additionally to our breakfast and everything for free. You can view the sunset at many points in Amed, if you stay in 'de Potrek', you just walk out the hotel and have a lovely beach in front of you, take a walk there and wait untill the sun's beating down. Me and my girlfriend will come back to Bali for sure and definetly come back to 'de Potrek' after having such a good time and so much fun here. You could see and especially feel this is not only a good operating hotel, this is a hotel operated from a kind family with heart and soul. 5 stars seems crazy but there was not a single thing that was bad or negative about this hotel, go on de Potrek. -Calvin

We loved our stay at De Potrek. The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean. The location cannot be beat - it backs directly onto the beach. Great snorkelling in Jemeluk Bay too, you can hire equipment from the hotel. Breakfast was great (awesome pancakes) and there was a nice swimming pool too. There are lots of Warungs only minutes away walking so plenty of options for lunch and dinner. The best part of this hotel was the staff, Pari and his brothers are so friendly, helpful, and always up for a good chat! They helped us book boats and transfers no problems too. This was our favourite hotel in 9 months of travelling, so relaxing! Highly recommended!

Second time at De Potrek this year, and always happy to come back. Located right next to the beach DP has lovely rooms, garden surrounds and pool. It also is located right where the daily fast boats leave for the Gili islands. The manager Paris also is such a happy, friendly and helpful person who is great fun to be around with. Right next to DP is the village hall where the new Gamelan group practices twice a week - this is a great privilege to be allowed to observe the hard work which goes into the polished performances which tourists usually get to see. Jemeluk is the quieter part of Amed, a bit less hassle and bussle, but still everything one needs is around the corner. I can only highly recommend De Potrek!

We stayed 3 nights at De Potrek Villas. The setting was very good, and we walked from the rooms into the "aquarium" in Jemeluk Bay all geared up for snorkelling. Good with children too... They even got gifts when we left :-)

This is an absolutely lovely little place right on the beach, perfectly positioned for the great snorkeling 100 feet away. The rooms are comfortable, clean and have excellent air conditioning. Each room has a little deck or balcony great for sitting outside and listening to the sounds of the village and the dive boats going out. The pool is beautiful, clean and refreshing. The guy who runs it, along with his brother and friend, do everything to make sure that you enjoy your time and are well taken care of. There are plenty of warungs (restaurants) and tiny corner stores within a stone's throw. The bathroom, while beautiful, was the only disappointment. If they added hot water and a bar of soap (bring your own!), I would have had absolutely no complaints whatsoever and might still be there ;-). Breakfast is typical. We originally booked 3 nights and stayed for 5.

Both the location and staff were sooo great! We could wake up naturally every morning without any noise or disturbance, and enjoy the simple, homemade but yummy sea-view breakfast in a friendly atmosphere. Pari is adorable and helpful, likes chatting with people. We felt extremely relaxed and homey here. The room facilities were too simple. No hot water. But who cares. You have to go out for fun in Amed and then take a shower to cool down. The perfect snorkelling and fish-watching location is right out of your backyard. It is also convenient to find an agency of shipping, hiking or diving. So regret we only spent four days here! Besides, dear Pari, we don't like Kuta, either. It is too noisy and busy, and not suitble for swimming or snorkelling. We really missed the beautiful corals and fishes of Amed! Hope there will be a next time soon...

We absolutely love the place - Pari (the hotel manager) is the sweetest and he is doing everything he can to make you feel welcome and happy. All the staff is helpful and will do anything for you to feel safe and comfortable. It is a small hotel with few rooms which is nice and cosy. There is a small pool for you to chill and hang - but it is also close to the beach and water for you to go diving and do other water activities. Breakfast is included and good. The place is close to the viewpoint and a lot of restaurants and dive shops. First time we stayed there was in 2012 and we were so looking forward coming back this year. It hasn't changed and it was the same feeling when we arrived this time. So nice and cosy. The only thing we miss is hot water but otherwise we would recommend it with 5 stars.
