It's hard to know how to fault Palm Garden Hotel. We arrived for 5 nights, as the first leg of our honeymoon. We extended our stay to 11 nights, which was such an easy decision. Why? - The owners (Annie and Orlando) were fabulous hosts - caring and happy to signpost you to local facilities/attractions (tip: go to Bali Asli... More

We stayed in oceanfront cottage #9 and #10 and loved it. We recommend not staying in oceanfront cottage #10 that is on edge of property as we could hear the neighbors washing up and talking right across the semi wall of the bathroom. Both had a cottages had a plunge pool, but it were so dirty we had to continue... More

Palm Gardens Amed is a fantastic small resort hotel right on the beach in Amed that reminded us in some ways of a miniature version of the majestic Oberoi in Seminyak. All the staff and the owners, who greeted us, were professional, warm and efficient. Our villa was amazing! We had villa 10 right on the beachfront with a private... More

We stayed for four night in villa 9, the beachfront villa. Ok this was the best villa at the Palm Garden but whichever room/villa you stay in you will have a great stay. Orlando and Anna run a lovely hotel, the attention to detail is great, everything is kept up to a great standard, very clean the best thing for... More

We stayed for 5 nights in Villa 9 right on the beach with our own plunge pool, very relaxing . The resturant was overlooking the pool and the beach, a very tranquil setting. Service and food both excellent . Amed is not a real touristy area, the villages around very original and unaffected , some other good resturants in the... More

Australian Travellers looking for 'The Old Bali' take note..... Upon arrival the understated yet elegant entrance, whilst wonderful, did not really prepare us for what lay behind those walls. The welcome drink, and the staff, warm and friendly immediately. Then the vision of the exquisitely planned and maintained resort. O.M.G.!!! A phrase used daily many times during our stay. As... We loved our stay at the pretty and peaceful Palm Gardens. We liked the fact that the Amed area was very undiscovered and non-touristy; a gentle walk beyond Palm Gardens revealed a very typical Balinese village life with the black pigs in mud, local people going about their daily business, no taxis or men touting for transport - no trendy... This is a small, clean, high spec resort. The villas are lovely and the 'outside' bathroom was an unusual novel touch giving a wonderful fresh feel (although the shower was a bit low pressure). Bathroom fittings were all exquisite and very high quality, like all of the decor in the resort. The (black volcanic) beach is almost part of the... More

Great place to stay with direct access to beach. The beach is covered in fishermen boats but it just adds to the traditional aspect of Amed. Great fish to look at just 1 min swim away. It's worth renting scooters which you can do at the hotel for less than a £1 day to go for lunch around and explore... More

This 10 roomed boutique hotel offers a quiet, relaxing stay in a charming, local village, worlds away from the tourist dominated areas in the south west of Bali. We stayed here for 5 nights in late October/early November. The design of the accommodation is influenced by local architecture and the bungalows are well equipped and have large open air bathrooms.... More
