During Christmas holidays 2013/14 with my hsuband we have been travelling in Kerala 3 weeks. We found this place through a french guide. It is nice BUT the traffic of house boat and other's is very loud during the day. The rooms are nice but completly without soundproofing, so just hope you have discreet neighbours. Last thing is the price...... More

A great value, friendly family-run place situated right on a backwater so you can sit outside your room and watch the kingfishers and cormorants. Breakfast is served in lovely courtyard garden overlooking the water with freshly made pineapple juice which is pure heaven. The owners and manager were very helpful, organising canoe- and boat-hire and taxi to airport. Meals are... More

My girlfriend stumbled across this amazing little place. We took a gamble and booked over the phone whilst travelling from Kochi by taxi and it turned out to be one of the best hotels of our 5 week trip. It's a little family run hotel along a nice smaller backwater channel. The rooms are large and clean, with mosquito nets,... More

As we were looking for a cheap place where to stay in Alleppey, we were not expecting much when arriving. We discovered a charming place in the middle of the backwaters. We took the basic rooms which are simply furnished but clean. Breakfast served on the terrasse facing the water: lovely! We received very good advices from the manager who... More

Outside of the crowded Alleppey city, right on the canals, it is located this very peaceful and beautiful homestay. The owner Thomas is very kindly and his pineapple juice is amazing and regenerating in the hot indian afternoons. The bamboo house we got was very suggestive, with a tree in the open air bathroom, though the bed was not the... More

Absolutely gorgeous and it's a must if staying in alleppey. Great and friendly staff and our room for 2,500 per night was an absolute storm for 2 people. Great space in the room and a lovely large balcony over looking the backwaters. It is set back just a bit more than the others but this gives you the chance to... More

We stayed two nights here and LOVED it. We had an upper room, with a balcony looking over the canal. It was neat watching all the houseboats passed - and we still felt very private. Jos and Thomas and Rosie were all so helpful. Jos went out of his way to draw a map for us to go on a... More

Travelled India for 3 weeks and this was by far my favourite place to stay. Rooms are basic with mosquito nets (so important!), standard beds and fans. Bathrooms are fine too, again, basic. Water was cold (read lukewarm) which isn't a problem with the heat in Alleppey. Incredible vibe - the balcony looks out over the Kerala backwaters, houseboats float... More

Wonderful location looking over the kerala waterways. Room are not as basic as expected. The rooms are full of details like woodcarvings. It has nice balconies. The shower is only hot if you're using a bucket. Lots of charm and very friendly people, and don't forget to eat at alleppy lake inn around the corner.

Actually I stayed just near here and then walked past this place later in the day and really wished I'd found it earlier I had called but couldn't find it! Rooms were lovely and spacious a great deal! Had balcony with sun chairs looking over canal which was busy with house boats coming and going. Had a chat to the... More
