Kampot has an edge of world type feel, hot, dusty, peppered with empty buildings and stray dogs - yet it's strangely seductive and compelling with new bars, cafes and restaurants popping up. It may be a classic 'visit now before Costa Coffee comes down' type place. Java Blue should be a gem but sadly the operation falls well short of... More

This choice was my 1st real mistake in selecting a place during my whole time in Cambodia. The price shouldn't be more than $35 for the location & lack of service. I don't think they have their wifi installed correctly so there was no internet or Facebook available for images. It was quite an inconvenience always going to a restaurant... More

This hotel is in a beautiful old French Colonial building with spacious rooms, classic dark wooden floors and wooden shutters that look original. Nice restaurant. Tasty western style a la carte breakfast with ample variety is included. The French manager/chef if very friendly, as are all the staff. Dinner is nothing short of fine dining, with good wine, local produce... More

Wow! Blown away by authentic hospitality! All round manager Donna is a serious gem. Her approach is very down to earth, yet authentically so professional to make you feel like her VIP guests. With Chef Claude in the restaurant, this hotel has a serious great wining and dining options as well. Just sit outside, relax and watch the locals go... More

We stayed at La Java Bleue for six nights and it was fabulous. Donna, Jean Claude and their staff provided us with everything we needed and more which made our stay in Kampot very enjoyable. It's a great spot to sit and watch the world while enjoying the best bacon omelette ever.

Kampot's a bit of a dust bowl and although rather peaceful, I can't really see why anyone would stop here. That said, many do, as did we and if you are going to do so there's really only one place! Java Bleue is an exceptional hotel run by exceptional people. Miss Australia runs the main show while the Grumpy Frenchman... More

This boutique hotel was fantastic. If there were any faults with the accommodation the personalized service would have more than made up for any physical shortfall. We booked at late notice and arrived ill. The hotelier noticed this and (despite us arriving hours early) quickly got our room sorted and made sure we had a soothing cup of tea. The... More

We stayed for 3 nights in January in this lovely place and really enjoyed our stay here! The guesthouse is perfectly located in the very charming town of Kampot. The room we had was fairly small but clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated and had everything we needed. The owners Jean-Claude and Donna are delightful, very welcoming and friendly and will... If you're planning to stay in the city (there are also nice options around Kampot), then this is THE place to stay. Beautiful colonial building with tastefully decorated (yet sober) rooms and huge bathrooms. The coffee served at breakfast was one of the best we had in Cambodia. Donna is adorable and will make everything to make you feel comfortable.... More
