Thank you so much for making our Honeymoon so special. The lodge was everything I hoped it would be and we couldn’t have been more pleased with the overall experience. Not only was the lodge breathtaking and relaxing, everything a honeymoon should be, but the service was above and beyond our expectations. What a wonderful way to start our new... More

This is a true gem between Lake Manyara and the Tarangire National Park. from the moment you arrive you know this place is extra special. The stunning views from the main living Bar area of a waterhole that is seemingly always busy with game taking their turn to quench their thirst, Zebras, giraffes, warthogs, gazelles, birds and then the divine... We just returned from a wonderful 4 day stay at Chem Chem. It was perfect as the last stop of our 2 weeks in Tanzania. As stated before in other reviews, it is such a beautiful place and the "slow safari" idea fits so well with many of their guests. Fabia and Nicholas are amazing owners and very "hands on"... More

In June of 2013 I had the pleasure to stay at Chem Chem near Lake Manyara in northern Tanzania. It is a great base to explore both Lake Manyara and Tarangire. Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is superb but doesn’t have a view and is not in an ideal location to visit Tarangire from… and Tarangire doesn’t have top level accommodations... More

Just spent the week between Xmas and New Year with my family, including two children age 10 and 13... A real bush experience tailormade for all of us and adapted day after day to fit the moods and wishes of each of us: no rush, no obligation, no set time...no stress. The slow safari concept of Chem Chem is perfectly... More

My husband and I recently stayed at Chem Chem, and we simply can't praise it enough. The main lodge and rooms are beautiful, with expansive views extending out to Lake Manyara and beyond, and a private waterhole where we were entertained for hours watching the resident wildlife come to drink. Activities focus on alternatives to the normal vehicle game viewing,... More

Of all the lodges and camps we stayed at during our safari in Tanzania, Chem Chem was by far our favorite. To start, our tent was luxurious and comfortable, with a front deck that overlooked the animals grazing in the distance (warthogs, impala, zebra, wildebeest, giraffes). The staff at Chem Chem is very friendly - everyone is beyond friendly and... More

This lodge is just perfect. It is elegantly designed and has a very friendly, relaxing feel. You will want for nothing - the food and service is fantastic. While you are feeling very spoilt in the comfort you are immersed in the safari experience with zebra, giraffe, impala, birds, wilderbeast, warthog (with little ones!) right outside your door and calmy... We just spent two days in the best environment you can imagine. With Steve and Chantal watching after us, and Fabia sharing her love of Africa and of Mango Chui - the orphan mongoose - with us we wanted for nothing. The location is superb. A sundowner on Lake Manyara where nobody was there but us, and maybe a few... More

What could be bad about a place where you sleep like a baby in a tent that's bigger than some New York apartments? How could you complain about a coffee service delivered to your door at 5:30 am with freshly baked cookies and warm cream tucked into a wicker basket? Why would you possibly worry about anything when your own... More
