My wife and I stayed here for two nights while we were on an OAT safari in Tanzania, The tents here a more like a hotel room than a tent. The tent sits on a wooden platform so you have a hard wood floor and a door that locks. The tent is large and well maintained, the toilet, shower, and... More

We stayed in Lake Burunge tented camp for two nights on our trip with Overseas Adventure Travel ((OAT). The camp, staff and the area were terrific. It was amazing how they whipped up some really good meals in the middle of nowhere! The views from the main dining room lodge and from the deck of our raised tent were amazing.... More

We were here for two nights and enjoyed the peacefulness of the lake, our cabin had a wonderful front porch to relax and think about all the interesting and beautiful animals we had seen on the game drive. The beds were comfortable and the food was good. Dining under the moon was fun. The best part was the guards singing... More

After a day of driving to Tarangire National Park and viewing animals, we arrived for two and nights days at our tented camp. Located in the midst of the wilderness, our camp featured solar-heated showers, electricity and very comfortable walk-in safari tents under thatched roofs. The main lodge for eating and gathering featured a full stocked bar and dining on... More

We stayed here two nights while we visited Tarangire. It was the first tented camp of our itinerary, and we were not disappointed. The open lounge area was very comfortable, and the evening meals on the deck overlooking the lake were magical! The food was very good and I appreciated the options for a vegetarian. The birds that surround the... More

We stayed here for 3 nights on a recent Safari to the Serengeti in Tanzania. The camp is located on the shore of Lake Burunge and affords very nice views from the individual permanent tent lodges. Hot water was always available via solar heaters. However, battery charging had to be done at the bar where many power strips were available.... More

We spent two nights at this lovely camp which boasted large rooms on raised platforms. Our small porch faced the lake. The food was plentiful and delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive. We especially enjoyed the massages - needed after the dusty rides back and forth to Tarangire National Park. Charging stations were available at the bar but there... More

Stayed for two nights as part of a safari tour with OAT. The tents were a good size with a wonderful view of Lake Burunge from the deck of the tent.. The service was friendly, but not obsequious. The view of the lake from the dining room was also an added feature. There were lots of small animals and birds... More

This was one of the best tented camps we stayed during a 7 day safari. Lovely "rooms", comfortable bed, good shower, great food (even the lunch box was ok...) One downside: We stayed here after Tarangire on the way to Ngorongoro. For such an itinerary, this is not the best option, as it's about 1 hour out of the way... More

After crossing the Kenya-Tanzania border at Namanga, we continued on to Arusha. I remember it as a small town. Now it offers a large shopping center, similar to Costco. After an all-day drive, we arrived at our comfortable camp overlooking Lake Burunge. After 39 degree F weather in our last few camps, we thoroughly enjoyed the warm weather. The following... More
