We were stopping through Greensboro and wanted to stay at this hotel because it was perfectly situated downtown. Great price, historic and can walk to anywhere fast. We got the Canopy King room and it was the best night of sleep in a hotel I've had in ages. Very comfortable! Staff was very friendly as well-two thumbs up!

I recently stayed here for two nights with a wedding party. The hotel is small, I think something like 26 rooms and very old - Historically. They have done a great job maintaining it and making it comfortable. The front desk staff is very knowledgebale and helpful. They told me on the weekends it's ok to park in front of... More

We liked this hotel. Remodeled, clean, well maintained, nice comfortable room. The staff was friendly and helpful and they had a very nice continental breakfast. When first pulling up we thought it might be in a dodgy neighborhood but not so. About a half a block away was nice area with shopping, bars, restaurants and so forth. In addition it... More

Excellent greeting. Easy check-in. Old fashioned elevator took us to the second floor. Wine reception from 6-7 p.m. Quiet, but had there been noisy folks nearby we likely would have heard everything. Nice free breakfast the next morning in a quaint room with a television. Everything about this hotel appeals to me. It is simply wonderful.

This is a boutique or character hotel. It is old, charming, still has it original, gated elevator! The staff are warm and welcoming. My room had a 'fridge and coffeemaker, and there is a microwave in the breakfast room on the first floor if you want to make something for yourself. There is an exercise room, and free access to... Thank you for your kind words and glad that you enjoyed your stay. We are in the process of replacing a lot of the windows...as soon as we can get permission to do so. The historic nature of the building poses is challenges. Hope to see you again! More

OK - my readers know I prefer to stay within walking distance of good local fare and unique haberdasheries. It has been a while since I'd stayed in downtown Greensboro. The gentrification and revitalization that seemed full speed ahead 6 - 8 years ago has - well, stalled. So saying, there isn't much to choose from when staying downtown and... More

My husband and I stayed here for one evening as we were passing through Greensboro. We are very familiar with the town and so were excited to stay right downtown in what looked to be a real charming hotel. We have stayed many places and never have we been in a hotel that was louder than this one. Our night... More

Take a step back in time with all the modern amenities. This hotel has been beautifully restored and gives guests the feeling of old time Southern charm. The desk staff and attendants are all so nice and helpful (even at 3am for wake up call and check out). Each room is unique but all have high ceilings and nice bathrooms.... More

The first time I stayed in this hotel was in January of 2015. I was there on business and had meetings at the University. This hotel was the closest to the University and looked unique and charming online. I stayed in a single traveler room on the second floor. The window in my room looked out onto an alley. In...
