Our group of 6 travelled from Australia, joining up with local family to celebrate a 50th birthday on new years eve. Tony and the team run a great camp. Eco friendly, with all you need to have a great experience. All the guides are locals and very knowledgeable. Game drives and star watching were expertly guided by our driver and... More

I totally agree with the recent excellent reviews. We spent 3 nights here and our Masaii guides, Jackson and Wilson, were very informative and great fun. They arranged the drives to suit our preferences and nothing was too much trouble. The visit to the associated Masai village was interesting, genuine and not at all 'touristy'. The camp was well laid... More

I totally agree with the recent excellent reviews. We spent Christmas here and our Masaii guide, Wilson, was very informative and funny! The visit to the Masaii village was truly interesting and felt very "un-touristic" and genuine. The animal spotting amazing - saw tons of elephants etc etc. Not to forget the excellent food! All in all an excellent choise!... More

If you wish to experience Kenya, its people, wildlife and scenery without spending many thousands of dollars, by all means stay at this camp. We have enjoyed safari camps at the Masai Mara and Sambuco, but this establishment ranks highest in our estimation. The Masai staff are extremely pleasant and courtly, the food is very good, the tented dwellings are... More

We stayed at 2 Porini Camps, the Lion and the Amboseli. You will see different wildlife at both camps. Here, we learned a ton about birds, saw hundreds of elephants and different antelopes, and had a wonderful time. I was a bit ill on our first day due to a rough flight from the Maasai Mara, and the staff took... More

We live in Nairobi, travel extensively to camps and lodges in East Africa and stayed at Amboseli Porini Camp from the 30th December to the 1st January 2012. We travelled with my ageing mother, mother-in-law and several family and friends from Australia and spent two outstanding days there. Tony, the manager and his team were very friendly and went out... We write this against a background that this was our fourth safari trip including a very enjoyable experience visiting 2 other camps last year. We chose Porini this year due to the high rating on Trip Adviser. The experience in Selenkay was rather disappointing. We were not advised of the 4 hour drive from Nairobi to the camp (or that... Amboseli , I was told means place of dust in Masai. We were picked up from Nairobi by minibus which mean't we got to see a bit of Kenya on route as we were flying between camps after this stay. We got stuck in the dust twice on route which just added to the adventure and eventually arrived in camp... More

If you're looking for moderate accomodations with a five star experience, definitely you'll want to stay here. As a travel agent, this is one of my staple properties. The cost factor is reasonable, and the experience outstanding. Porini camps are professionally managed by Gamewatchers Safaris, with whom I work when booking safaris, as a travel agent. My group this past... More

This was the first camp in an eight day safari. Kay, our travel agent - Destined to Travel, along with Gamewatchers, chose an excellent start to our trip. Tony, the camp manager was warm and welcoming. Our Masai guides and spotters, Emmanuel, Jonah, Daniel and Julius were friendly and well informed. The food was amazing, the sundowners fun. We were...
