Elsa's Kopje was the third stop of seven in the faultless itinerary we planned and booked directly with Cheli & Peacock Safaris (www.chelipeacock.com), and what a fabulous place it is! We were fortunate to have the honeymoon suite and it is absolutely amazing -- we felt we were living in a magazine article! The setting is wonderful, the food is... More

As our title says this is the best place we have ever stayed and we do not say this lightly. This was the best lodge we stayed at on our 9 night safari and the best place we have ever stayed in Kenya. From the drive to the lodge, the warm welcome by Thomas and Jana, the spacious rooms, delicious... More

Wow - what an amazing place to stay. We honesty felt privileged to stay here - it's utterly stunning in terms of views and the rooms are so comfortable - the bedding is just wonderful to sink into too! The food was fabulous and they made a lemon meringue pie especially for my husband as he had read about this... More

Just spent a week in Kenya and stayed at Elsa's Kopje during our first half of our trip. And what can I say? That it was amazing. First off, the view from our room that was indeed carved out from the mountainside was incredible. It overlooked the amazing scenery of Meru National Park. The whole atmosphere was so serene. We... Nestled atop a natural kopje inside Meru National Park, this lodge now ranks as my favorite Kenyan hideaway. Spectacular views await from your ensuite room, massage table, the infinity pool, basically everywhere. One of my favorite moments was the candle-lit fine dining on the lawn with hyenas laughing in the distance. The meal was superb with butternut-coconut bisque, red-wine glazed... More

What a spectacular setting to have such a magnificent lodge. With rooms that reminded me of Tolkien's 'middle earth', but perched not in valley but around a rock outcrop that itself had panoramic views of the Meru National Park, Elsa's Kopje is indeed a spectacular place to visit, relax and soak up the history that it possesses. Made famous for... More

Wow! From the lodge staff to the driver/guides, Elsa's Kopje truly impresses. We stayed for 2 nights in June and loved every minute of it. We could have stayed forever. I always talk about the “wow factor” which you get at some very selected lodges. At Elsa’s Kopje you definitely get it. Our suite (we learned later that it is the Honeymoon Suite, room number 10) had the full on Wow factor. Upon arrival at Elsa's (the only commercial lodge in the reserve) we were greeted by the managing couple... More

So so much to say about wonderful Elsa's though I will keep it short and sweet.... Firstly, Sammy our guide for 3 days, brilliant from the moment we arrived until the very last minute we sadly said goodbye. Incredibly knowledgable on all wildlife, flora and fauna and knew all the answers to the 100s of questions I asked. Thankyou Sammy...... More
