If you love camping, wilderness and luxury, this is the place to visit. Our stay there begun much earlier than we arrived. Having left Nairobi a bit late, the owner, John Nkinyangi, kept in touch with us until we arrived in Maua ensuring that we are not lost and are okay. It helped that we had called to inform them... This was a fantastic place to stay. Relatively new, it had a few little issues to work out but they should be getting those up to par before long as they continue to improve. This was very close to Meru for game drives. The owners were very attentive and the staff was awkward compared to the staff at other camps... More

We spent three nights at Ikweta with a party of six adults. Susan and her staff are very friendly and helpful, and the main gate of Meru National Park is very close (three minute drive) to the camp. The tents are beautiful, spacious and clean, and the beds are excellent. The food is very good, and we very much enjoyed... More

I had a group of 20 people at Ikweta. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The tents are nice and comfortable and the food is very good. Also the prices are reasonable. Ikweta is a small camp with easy accessibility to Meru National Park.

Top luxury and warm welcome feeling at affordable prices. We keep coming back with our family and friends, and have recommended this place to many others, all enthusiastic after their visits. Tents, all with de-luxe bathrooms, have all comfort equipment, and are tastefully decorated. 100% mosquito screens keep all insects out, while the whole-wall windows bring views of surrounding nature... This is a great place to stay when visiting Meru National Park. The tents are spacious, nicely designed and comfortable. The food was tasty, including the packed lunch we requested on one days. We took a guided nature walk to a nearby hill, which was a very nice way of seeing this part of rural Kenya. The staff were very... More

I often write good reviews, and can usually find something good to say about each place we stayed, but Ikweta Safari Camp went beyond every expectation... even after 2 months travelling! This small, privately owned camp was easy to find and ideally located just minutes from Meru National Park gate. The grounds were left in a managed natural state and... More

The staff were so welcoming when we finally arrived quite late in the evening. We were able to sink into the couches after a fairly arduous journey with a drink before our dinner was served. The food was good and we had an entertaining chat with the owner. The tent was lovely with everything we needed .... mostly a comfortable... More

We stayed at Ikweta Safari Camp for 4 days in september 2013. It was a great place. The tent/house was beautiful and everything was there. The only thing was that we had some problems with the hot shower but they did everything to fix it and after a day it was ok. The pool was not really clean (I think... More

Ikweta Safari Camp is the place to be if one wants to have a relaxed and comfortable place away from the hustle of the city. I was there for one single night but it's a memory I won't forget. The hospitality of the people there, the cool and quiet atmosphere defines what an excellent camp site should be. This is... More
