We spent four nights at the Offbeat Meru Camp. It is well situated in the Bisanadi National Reserve which is next to and basically part of the Meru National Park. You really cannot tell that you have left the reserve and entered the Park. The camp is by a river and shaded on a hillside forest. There are only 6... More

Absolutely incredible safari camp! Beautiful part of Kenya and a must see for anyone visiting the country. The wildlife viewing was spectacular, especially the rhino sanctuary! The camp staff were exceptionally great from Craig the manager who met me directly off the truck from our safari ride from the airstrip; the guides that worked so hard to locate everything on... Another amazing stay at Offbeat Meru, great hosting from Geoff and the team at Offbeat Meru. Great guiding from Stanley even though the conditions were difficult due to the rains last month; even so Stanley managed to find some great sightings - elephants which I love to watch were encountered on every game drive. Had the park to myself was... More

The offbeat Meru camp is located remotely within the Meru national Park. It is approximately a 45 minute drive from the next airport, the Meru airstrip. Already on the way from the airstrip to the camp, there is a long trail along the river with rich wildlife. The offbeat Meru camp itself is a beautiful, unfenced place, located near a... More

We love Meru and looked for a Camp, a little more intimate and was not disappointed. If you are looking for a Camp with all facilities , probably not for you. Having said that, the Tents are comfortable and clean, with limited electric and " bucket showers " There is no Wi-Fi, good!. The food is basic but good quality,... More

This is a once in a lifetime place. The lodging and food are beyond description. The wild game safari was exciting. Rode in the safari trucks who have very knowledgable guides George was ours. Your every need is met. Each bungalow is unique.

Spent two nights at Offbeat Meru and would thoroughly recommend this camp. My guide (Stanley) was a wealth of knowledge and the other staff were great in making my stay memorable. Food is excellent, the tents are well appointed. This is a different game experience to the Masai Mara where it is all laid out in front of you. You... More

Offbeat Meru is a really gorgeous little camp tucked away in a shallow valley in the Bisanadi Reserve, which is basically an extension of Meru NP and adjoins the Park to the East. The fact that it is in Bisanadi is absolutely no detriment to the enjoyment of the safari In Meru. Certainly the wildlife does not recognise the distinction.... More

The camp site is on a stream and it just adds additional charm to this exclusive tented paradise on the fringes of Meru National Park. The temperature in Meru in Winter is still quite warm (unlike Mara) and the swimming pool was a pleasant surprise for the kids and adults. This site has no running water in the tents (bath... More

I'm afraid I have to disagree with a recent review - my husband and I thought this camp was excellent. We really loved it. It was a brilliant start to our holiday in Kenya - and, again contrary to a previous reviewer, we really enjoyed the food and definitely far superior to 'school dinner' standard - we eat very well...
