The hotel offered a good price which attracted us to stay here but too many things caused us not to stay there again. I don't mind walking but for the ones who don't it is a good 3/4 of a mile to walk to the main shopping area downtown. We had a King Room and I am 6'4" the bathroom... more

Rocky Waters has the best location for the price of any motel in Gatlinburg. It's rooms are located DIRECTLY over the river. It has free continental breakfast. You can walk down the parkway to all the restaurants and attractions, and save on the high parking fees, a real bonus. The rooms are clean, and the service friendly. My wife and... more

As for my entire family we do not tend to believe in "ghosts" other than the holy ghost. I speak for my entire family : we all had a uneasy fealing about room 220 when we arrived. During our 3 day stay we all saw "things" out of the corner of our eyes that were not there. On 3 seperate... more

This motel is one of the older motels in Gatlinburg. We usually stay at different places and decided to give this one a try. We stayed in the King Jacuzzi room. It was very roomy and cozy. It does have a wood burning fireplace in season. It was very clean and didn't even have that "motel" smell that I don't... more

We have been coming to this hotel for years but not anymore. They have a three night minimum on the weekends and the last time I called to check the rates, the person I spoke with in reservations was very rude. I am staying at the Best Western Twin Island this year. They were very curtious. The rooms cost more... more

Reading some of these other reviews of the Rocky Waters, I can hardly believe they're talking about the same motel with which I'm so familiar. I have been staying at the Rocky Waters for several years, and wouldn't even consider other accommodations in Gatlinburg. True, this is reminiscent of a roadside motel from yesteryear, so if you're interested in a... more

We had a King Jacuzzi Suite w/ fireplace. While the room has been updated in the past, it really could use some attention to detail as it was a little 'rough around the edges' as far as decor and furnishings. (ie: the countertop in the bathroom and also in the living room was missing a finished edge, the wallpaper was... more

We loved the location, which over looks the Little Pigeon River. We were able to feed the duck every morning. It is also walking distance to the heart of Gatlinburg. The thing that empressed us the most was that everyday we went out when we got back our room was cleaned up by hotel staff!! We did not even have... more

We spent two nights at Rocky Waters and loved the entire experience. Our room was large, clean and comfy. Loved the private balcony overlooking Little Pigeon River. The bathroom was one of the cleanest I've experienced for a hotel of this quality. The hotel is located on a busy road, but so is every other hotel in Gatlinburg. BUT, even... more

This motel is located off the main road through the town of Gatlinburg. The road on which it is located is four lanes and has lots of traffic, but there seemed to be traffic everywhere in this town. We were able to look at two different rooms and there was a big difference in the road noise. We chose a... more
