Used to be a hotel that was decent. We stopped in office to book a room and hotel is gone. They said they were a welcome center for the ole smoky moonshine and to come see their new place which turned out to be a timeshare scam.

We stayed here so we could check out some the local bars. It was nice enough... just very dated especially for the price. But it was nice to be able to walk to most bars and not have to have a taxi. I would stay again, but not the best place in town to stay.

Ramp still blocked off with yellow tape. However our room was on lower level. After management left it became very noisy with no one to report it to. Windows had blinds but no curtains so the room never really get dark enough for good sleep. No rod in closet area so if you bring your clothes on hangers this can... More

We stayed at smokyland over the weekend. We wanted a hotel in walking distance to the shops and we got it, but location is not everything When we got there there was no one at the front desk, after reading a small sign on the abandoned door we had instruction to drive a block down the street to a different... I'm so sorry for the confusion during your stay. We have shortened hours during our slow season and the main phone number to Smokyland is forwarded to it's sister property when it is closed. We have been making improvements on the property, there is a ramp that had the foundation crack last week making it unsafe to walk on so... More

We stayed here for two nights right after Christmas. The hotel is older, but clean. The location is fantastic. Two problems will keep me from staying here again. One, we were in a room on the lower level and the dumpsters are located right outside the windows. I think it was room 110. Well, the garbage was picked up each... More

This is an older hotel, but it is clean. They were actually doing some painting and other renovations while I was there, so they are taking care of the place. This is next door to the Shoneys on the parkway, so you can park at the hotel and walk to everything. That's nice because traffic can be tough sometimes. I... More

Great choice! I was a little concerned at first because I am very picky about where I stay and the room. I usually stay at "another" chain hotel that is way more expensive, but decided to try something different at a lesser price. The room was clean, bigger, bathroom was wayyyyyyy larger, we had a jacuzzi in the room by... More

A visit to Smokyland is unique. Granted the property is worn. You cannot hang your clothing with your own hangers due to the configuration of the closet rod. The ice machines are turned off during the winter period, although we were offered a rebate on ice purchases. Be advised to get up early for your bath or you may be... More

Last week my wife and I stayed a couple of days in Gatlinburg and we were pleasantly surprised by the accommodations at the Smokyland Hotel. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff there was very helpful and professional. It is not a new modern hotel with all the amenities, but the great location was within... More

Thanks for commenting. The location is definitely a major selling point for Smokyland and it is usually sold out on the weekend. More

Driving through Gatlinburg, took a chance on this motel. Great location, price was reasonable. Room was clean, bed was relaxing. Not a fancy room but comfortable. Really enjoyed the balcony that overlooked the parkway. Will definately stay here again.
