I, like a few other reviewers here, never stayed in this hotel, but I can tell you something about it. I made reservations for two nights. I called back 3 days before the arrival date to cancel because a family member became sick and we could not make it. Immediately got the run around on the phone and was told... more

Large rooms with lovely furniture, Manger told us he is upgrading every room with bespoke furniture over the next few weeks. Great having a private balcony and window with fly screen that could be left open. Very friendly, helpful staff. Loved our stay there, just a short walk to the main street but tucked away, quiet and beautiful. Will certainly... more

I stay at this hotel every year, sometimes twice a year. Once thought I would try something different, cancled after first night and went back to the River Edge for the remainder of vacation. Feels like my second home, have stayed here for over 20 years. It is out of the hustle and bustle of things, yet just a nice... more

Stayed four nights. First impression - oh crap! The place wasn't that terrible once we settled in, just not a place I'd plan on spending four nights again. Generally the rooms are clean but the bathroom is very old (room 104) they've added an updated vanity outside the bathroom which helps but the bathroom itself is bad. You couldn't actually... more

We stayed here 7/26/08 - 7/29/08 in room 105. The bathroom had no lights that worked and the maid did not bother to replace them when she cleaned everyday. Had full size sheets on a queen size bed so the sheets would not stay on the bed! Pool was okay. The kids enjoyed the pool. One of the kids got... more

This was an overnight stay on the way to visit family. The room was dated, but nice. It had a balcony overlooking pool (under construction...but was too cold to swim anyway), microwave and older dorm-style fridge. Quiet area off the main drag. Bathroom was older, but clean. Breakfast was nothing fancy, but was sufficient. Friendly staff too. Cons: Hand towel... more

We stayed at the River Edge from October 28, 2007 through October 31, 2007 and I must admit I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms and how comfortable the beds were. The front desk personnel were very helpful and the continental breakfast was average. We had one of the bedrooms with 2 queen size beds and a... more

We stayed at the rRiver's Edge for one night on our way to St. Augustine just to cut the driving down and to see the mountains. We walked into this hotel and were greeted by a German woman at the counter, she was so nice and full of information, she let us see the room before we took it and it... more

Got into Gatlinburg early and got to check in early. Bought Dollywood package which included 2 nights stay, 2 adult Dollywood 2 day passes and 2 child 2 day passes. Got all of this for less than $500.00. Room was clean and staff was polite and friendly. The only problem we had was housekeeping knocking on my door at 9am... more
