I gave it 4 stars because of the memories I have there... The service is not very friendly. The woman is always on the defensive and is quite rude not to mention they charge you 25 cents per five minutes in the shower (slot machine is in the shower). Never been to a campground that charges you for showers separately... More

The campground is quiet, grounds well maintained, and pretty. The woman running the place is hands down the rudest and most obnoxious I have yet to encounter. She is a control freak. Small pets are not allowed in the grassy dog walk because the traffic is close and that is where she takes her two big dogs. Instead you have... More

Our initial plans were to stay in the GSMNP but the government shutdown put the kibosh on those plans. We found a wonderful substitute with Greenbrier. No matter how many negative reviews I read about this location, it will never tarnish the amazing time my husband and I had when we did our tent camping adventure here. Darlene was absolutely... After the government shutdown, we were forced to move out of the Smokies to other campgrounds not owned by the Federal Government. After looking at several we came up on this one and had to share my experience. There was a news anchorer getting ready to interview the owner and we thought we would at least drive thru the campground... More

Greenbrier Island Campground is a lovely place in Gatlinburg, TN. Most all sites are backed up to the beautiful Little Pigeon River. We camped here July 18-22, 2013, in a 5th wheel (would have stayed longer, but they were booked up). We had site # 6 and were well pleased !! We met the owner's, Ron & Darlene, and of... More

Loved the location of this campground - surrounded by the Little Pigeon River. The woman working the office was friendly and helpful - but I can certainly see where others are describing her as abrasive! She definitely keeps her eye on everything and everyone! The size of the sites was pretty average - not too big, yet enough room for... More

Yes, a beautiful camping area. Sadly there isn't anything for the children to do except swim. That only last for a while but nothing more. No tubes to rent, no game room or any other activities. It would have been better also had the owner not kept harassing us or watching all the time like someone was doing something wrong.... More

Thought I'd stop by and check this campground out so we could stay there in the future. It has a GREAT location right on the Little Pigeon. Sounds perfect right? Yeah it had a sign that said Visitors must check in, but EVERY campground has that type sign and none of them care if you ride through and check them... More

I just visited this campground in the pouring rain to check it out. It is a very well kept privately owned campground on one of the best camping spots in the Smokies. A family business for forty years or so as I understand it. I neglected to get the woman's name but she was friendly, took the time to explain... More
