Any negative comments about this campground are due to lack of planning on my part. On a whim, I decided to head up to the Smokys this past weekend with the boys (5 and 8). The reservation system runs until Oct 31st, after that, it's first come first serve until spring. I figured I would be able to score a... More

Elkmont Campground is located between Gatlinburg and Cades Cove on the Tennessee side of the park. As these are some of the busiest parts of the park, Elkmont provides an opportunity to be near both attractions while being slightly less crowded. The campground is in a beautiful setting with Little River running through it. Elkmont is also the largest campground... More

My family spent many fall breaks camping in the Smoky Mountains beginning in the mid-60s and continuing for many years. We returned as tent campers and though cold one of the nights we did well with a huge wood fire for dinner and breakfast. We were in a site with no electricity (and the first night there were no lights... More

One of the few campgrounds INSIDE of the national park. Had mounted tent areas, easy parking, and a nice little convenient store. Also had firewood for sale. Located along one of the creeks, there was a nice little area to take a refreshing dip. Park Ranger has a station right on the campground -- the were very helpful and friendly.

I thought Cades Cove was a pretty neat place to stay...but this CG is leaps and bounds better. There are river sites for tent campers and RV sites for towables and MH's of various sizes. Dump Station and Potable Water station near Sugarlands Visitor Center easily accessible.

Loved this campground. Get a riverside site if you can. C003 was great. The river drowns out the noise around you. There are no showers but for 20 bucks it is a great place to stay for a couple of nights. Bring helmets for kids if they want to ride their bikes.

This review is a tough one. Tough because of the amazing beauty that is the Great Smoky Mountains. In all fairness, the Park Service couldn't have been blessed with a more beautiful setting to build a campground. A river runs through it, the nighttime temperatures are cool, and the trees tower above each of the sites. Options abound for generator... More

This campground is nicely done, and making reservations is a breeze, you really get a good idea of the site you are getting, and you can even print a map of the place if you want. We loved our camping pad right on the river and lots of families were tubing down the river. The campers across the river had... More

Tent camped for two nights with my husband and boys. This campground is very nice - basic national park bathrooms - tent pads and sites are well-kept and camp store folks are very friendly and nice. The Rangers are STRICT and all business for sure. Our boys rode their bikes all around the campground - make SURE you remember to... More

What a great campground. Very friendly and knowledgable Ranger staff. Quiet and large camp sites. Even has a great tubing area in the campground . I've seen people fishing even though I've never tried it there.
