With a name like camping in the smokies I expected trees and seclusion, no it's wide open no amenities, kinda run down and eat over priced. Very disappointed. Also the sigh has no light so at night I passed it every time. Will not stay again.

My family and I stay here every year. The owners are friendly, family oriented folks. This camp site is very quiet, clean, and very close to both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. We love that there is a grocery store just down the street,a dollar store beside the camping grounds for all our supplies we forgot back home and the trolley picks up/drops off at the camp... Pros: Excellent location (away from the busy downtown area); Excellent staff/owners; Very well maintained; Easy access to all attractions; Staff very personable; Cable; Cons: Not isolated as compared to other campgrounds (but that's a matter of opinion) we've been to. But in touring around the town most (if not all) of the other campgrounds were not isolated either so we... More

We have stayed here twice. Pros: great location right on the trolley line. Very clean bathrooms. Kids love playing in the creek. Staff keep information on your stays for the next time you come and are personable. Cons: bright at night, not a lot of trees. Don't camp in spot directly from bathroom, bright as day at night. Won't get... More

Before I mention what we didn't like, I do want to point out that the maintenance man was great & the bathroom/shower facilities were very clean! Now, onto the not so great stuff... #1-They don't have a late check in policy in place! We've been to campgrounds before, where if you get there after the office has closed, they put... More

Overall it's a nice campground- clean and well maintained with nice bathrooms and showers. It is convenient to town with a trolley that runs every 45 minutes... The only downfall is I felt like we were watched constantly and monitored to see if we were breaking any rules .... They even made a post on Facebook while we were there... More

Usually, my family of 3 go to Cades Cove for tent camping. (No electric/no showers) We rough it for the weekend or three or four days. Our vacation was in the middle of October 2013 during the closing of all of the US National Parks. We are a stubborn family and really wanted to go tent camping, so we looking... More

We had a great time at Camping in The Smokies. We appreciated the spotless bath rooms and showers. We don't have a car so we took advantage of the trolley systems in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. There is a trolley stop right in front of the campground, and one on the other side of the street, which came in handy... More

This is a great place to stay. The bathrooms were always clean and I always had a hot shower! The owners were very great. We had a pop up, the weather was really cold one night, and the water froze. The owner came around to unfreeze our hose and all of the RV's whose froze. It is really close to... More

At check in the campground managers spent about 10 minutes reading us rules and then constantly kept an eye on us trying to catch us break a rule. Campground was almost empty and they tried to park us right in between two other campers. I didn't accept that and insisted on a more private spot. Maybe that is why they... More
