First time at sleepy bear. We enjoyed our stay. Room was clean. Staff was nice. My grandson like the ducks. We usually stay at the rodeway inn . Had a reservation. They didnt call us to let us know they were tearing the motel down. We called to confirm , number out of service. Found sleepy bear on the internet.... More

We certainly enjoyed our stay at the Sleepy Bear Motel. The Little House of Pancakes is located directly across the street and features some of the best breakfast food in all of Gatlinburg. The Alamo Steakhouse is also within walking distance of the motel. The clerk in the main office was both pleasant and accommodating. The room featured a television... More

Our family loves this motel. It is older and dated but very very clean. The lady at the front desk is very nice and hospitable. It is Christian owned and operated. We always stay on the bottom floor in a room close to the big tree by the creek. Top and bottom floors are all over the creek, except for... More

My husband and I stopped at this motel to get a room just for the night so we can get some sleep. we didn't really care if the place was outdated (which it is) or modern. the main thing I care about is how clean the room and especially the beds are. I usually always check the sheets first to... More

We stayed at this motel for two nights during a recent visit to the Smoky Mountains. I can't think of anything about this motel that isn't old. The TV didn't work that well but we didn't use it much anyway. The beds were pretty worn. The bathroom is very, very small. However, our room was clean and the pool was... More

I stayed at the motel for only one night because I was on a road trip. I booked in advance to make sure I had a place to sleep but it was getting so late and by that time I would have slept anywhere because I was so tired. I called ahead and told I was on the way and... More

My family and I just spent 5 days at this motel. We absolutely loved it. I only had one issue and it was quickly resolved. The staff is very friendly and helpful !! The bathroom is small but I had no issue with that. Coffee in lobby was great ! Kids went swimming everyday !! Pool was very nice and... More

Did not even stay after making reservations. Killed at least three bugs after being in the room for 1 hour! Felt fleas biting our legs in room. After telling attendant we were leaving... Her response was "we can't get rid of those things!" Don't waste your time. Find a room that will feel like vacation not a nightmare!

We decided to stop for one night in Gatlinburg on our way to the Outer Banks. I reviewed available hotel/motels. I felt satisfied with what I read about Sleepy Bear. The main concern most reviewers relayed was simply that the motel was older and slightly outdated. Knowing we'd get there late afternoon and leave early the next morning, that didn't... More

This is a very quaint, exceptionally clean retro motel. After staying at places where you have to walk down narrow hallways and park far away from your room, we felt like VIPs being able to park in front of our rooms. Despite a reservation for a second room made earlier that day, our request to be placed in side-by-side rooms... More
