We did not really plan this trip to Smokey Mountains; we made the decision one day prior to the trip. But we thought we did not need much planning since it is a tourist area; and that all we needed is hotel reservation. The very first night at super 8 at Gatlinburg Tennessee, my two kids (3 and 5 years old) got bit by an important number of bad bugs. Their hands, feet, belly, face and back were full of numerous bites in the morning, I wish I had taken pictures of this horror. Fortunately, I had this sixth sense, most of us parents have, to check on them on my way to the bathroom about 6 a.m. I killed at least six of the bugs, but I'm sure there were so many more. I am 100% sure it was bad bugs; I've read all about them in the past, what they look like and their habits. What's most annoying is that the hotel staff did know about it and they had the hotel sprayed according to them about a week prior to our arrival.
