We got a couple boards for two hours at the end of the day. They didn't work very well and at $20 each felt like a bit of a ripoff, but they were fun. If you have more time, probably more worth it. The waxing process is more effort than effectiveness.

I've stayed here five or six times and enjoyed each visit. This family owned hotel is clean, beds are nice, and the view of the sand dunes is amazing. My favorite thing is the hummingbird feeders outside each room with continuous battles of who can claim each feeder. In the morning there were deer in the parking lot who didn't... More

we stayed in the larger of the two rooms available at the Duplex unit; our unit had a large glass enclosed 'patio' that allowed for great scenery and the room was pleasantly very nice; pricy because of its location but a memorable evening spent.

We tented but didn't bring food. Luckily, The Oasis was just down the road, and we were impressed with the service, food and friendliness of staff. It isn't gourmet, but it's well done. For example, I had a side of zucchini and it was sauteed and seasoned just right. Not mushy, amazingly enough. Views are great, and we were lucky... More

Stop here to rent boards for Great Sands. Definitely eat here when you return them. Friendly staff. Shockingly good salads and mexican food. Outstanding pie, baked by a local octogenarian. Abundant charm and gas!

Wow, good reviews for this place baffle me. Grossly overpriced for a plywood dump with stains all over the floor and chairs, and smelled like urine. Had to go to their store to buy Lysol spray, and had to pay $6 for a can that cost $1 at Wal Mart. It is worth it to stay at a decent hotel... More

What an awesome lodging experience! I'm a single mom and took my 8 yr old to the dunes and stayed in duplex 1. This duplex feels like it is out in the middle of nowhere compared to the Oasis Store and the other lodge. At first I was a little scared, but the little sun room and sleeping area are... More

We were going to tent camp but the weather forced us indoors. We found this location by chance and did not regret a single minute. We had cabin #4. It has bunk beds and a double bed. Bring your own sleeping bag or bedding. The campfire pit and grill were great. There was a picnic table outside and a table... More

The menu is limited and the food is decent. We had breakfast and it was comparable to what we can cook and taste like at home. The prices are however fair and cheap. While fueling up on our breakfast burrito and "cheese" omelet we had a great view of the Dunes!! The staff is so kind and sweet. They do... More
