Close to Great Basin NP. Stayed in one of the rooms. Basic, but nice. Walls are paper thin. Good wireless access. Nice and shady. Owners & staff are very nice. Nice location for a quick get away during the off season.

It is always nice to go to a place with friendly staff, and good drinks. The bar tender Chuck makes the BEST Bloody Mary I have ever had!! If you are in the area this is a must stop. Little at a time the place is trying to improve.

We were in town to see the stars at Great Basin National Park. We saw the bar was open and decided to drop in for a beer before heading up in the cold winter night. When we walked in we were greeted by Chuck. Chuck was extremely nice and we talked to him for a long time about the surrounding... More

Beautiful place, great rooms, and awesome people! Management is friendly and out going! Location is peaceful, quiet, and relaxing. Plenty of things to do and placed to see. Never had any problems with bugs, and airways nice people around.

I wish that we would have made the drive to Ely as there aren't really any decent places in this town. Agree with Jennifer D, is one of the worst motels I have ever stayed in. Baker is a lesser traveled area and offers no chains or real competition, probably cannot support them with the smaller amount of tourist traffic.... More

We parked our trailer there from mid December-mid January, (yes a month), for our hunt, their first winter open. It was perfect. Was it cold, yes. Did the pipes freeze, yes. Did it snow, yes. Everything you would expect for winter conditions. Did Chuck, (manager) tell us this was going to happen, YES. Chuck and Jen were very accommodating to... More

Not exactly on the cutting edge for style, but adequate for three nights. I stayed in a motel room and got a good night's sleep each night. The folks in the campground and other units were all nice and quiet. A little more cleaning into the corners of the room would be appreciated, but it was very clean everywhere else.... More

Just stay away from this place. I stayed at the Whispering Elms this summer during a visit to Great Basin National Park. It is really a run-down trailer park and I don't know why anyone would stay there to camp when the beautiful park is just 6 miles away. We were unable to bring camping equipment with us on this... This place is great! Cliff and jen are the sweetest. Couldn't have asked for more! Great people, great drinks, great laughs! A quaint oasis in Nevada that you must stop at to say hi to the friendly locals. Highly recommended stop!!!!!

Baker Nevada is remote which makes Great Basin National Park a good visit. There are no crowds like you'd see in Yellowstone or Yosemite. Being remote, Baker has only a couple options for where to stay. Whispering Elms is a decent place to stay. The rooms are clean and functional. The decor is a dated looking it like it was... More
