If this facility were anywhere near a reasonable-sized city, I'd knock my rating down at least one notch, but alas, it is out in the middle of nowhere. The diner at the restaurant was pretty good, not amazing but pretty good. The restaurant itself is kind of a throwback place, like something from 1978. I had a hamburger, bowl of... More

The Border Inn is a very acceptable motel given that it is only full service lodging in a radius of over 60 miles. We stayed there over the Columbus Day weekend. The rooms are old, but decent. The WIFI never worked and I could not even get a Verizon cell signal there. The Border Inn restaurant provided good food at... More

When you’re 80 miles away from the next service area, your choices are limited. With two motels in town, we chose this one. The Border Inn is small, dated, tired but it was clean. The jam on our room was broken. We could barely get in with the key and felt like we were breaking in. When we went to... More

I went between 2 and 3 stars for this little "Bates Motel" looking old, funky place, but the people that work there, and in the restaurant attached, were super friendly, the sheets were clean, and the shower pressure was good. Wi-fi was basically non-existent, but that is the way it is in that part of the world. Also, little, dinky,... More

This is a hotel in the middle of nowhere, Nevada. It is on the border of Utah and Nevada, and there are not many other accommodations in the area, and I believe this to be the best around. Do not expect a 4-star hotel, but do expect a clean room, good food to eat at the cafe, and very nice... More

This is our go-to for a get out of the city getaway. We have stayed here for years, when we just want to leave it all behind. Don't expect 4 star accommodations. Expect a strange experience, full of friendly staff, colorful locals (and visitors, as we might be there), and a star filled night. This is not a resort. This... More

Once again, we had a very nice time at this older motel property. You have a refrigerator and microwave in your room. A/C a little noisy but works well. Bed comfortable and room large. TV pulls in quite a few channels. We were able to watch college football on Sat. and NFL games all day Sunday into the night game.... More

We visited Great Basin NP, planning to stay at the park Lodge (NOT!). There is no lodge. We started checking alternatives - Baker, NV is tiny. The Silver Jack is a small, 6-cabin place that looked attractive - booked up! We couldn't find the Whispering Elm Motel (more in another review). The Park staff recommended the Border for "getting your... More

Located roughly an hour from Ely to the west, an hour & a half from Delta to the east with a whole lot of nothing in between. Gas station, C-store/cafe next door staffed with hard working but smiling faces. A few slot machines if you're so inclined...but better yet, take the drive into Baker and check out the quaint little... More

We had planned to stay in Ely during our visit to Great Basin NP but the travel time back and forth would cut into time at the park. We took a chance on staying at Border Inn and what a nice surprise. While the room was very basic, it was functional, clean and had a small frig. Very convenient having... More
