We had planned to stay in Ely during our visit to Great Basin NP but the travel time back and forth would cut into time at the park. We took a chance on staying at Border Inn and what a nice surprise. While the room was very basic, it was functional, clean and had a small frig. Very convenient having... More

We stopped here to just get a soft drink and a snack, ended up having a sandwich at the bar. Good food, nice friendly owners , plus they have slot machines. We love out of the way places and this definitely fits the bill. Stop by, if you are going that way.

The Border Inn is a tiny oasis that literally straddles the Utah/Nevada border on US 6/US 50 (The Loneliest Road In America). Quaint, clean rooms. All the other essentials for a completely comfy stay. A small convenience store. A restaurant. Fuel. Ice (very hard to find in the desert). And, open 24 hours. This little jewell will be one of... There are only 2 RV Parks in Baker, NV and we found the best. The Border Inn consists of a RV Park, Motel, Gas station, Restaurant, bar and casino. The RV spaces are wide and long. The restaurant has a good variety of food and it tastes great. All of the wait staff are friendly and helpful. we were in... More

I've paid more to stay in chain budget motels that were worse than this establishment. The room was clean and quieter than expected given that there is some traffic into the gas station throughout the night. The 70's style paneling makes for a quaint experience, as did unfinished wood trim that appeared to be part of a recent remodel. While... More

We got rained out for a day and a half while camping with our 6 1/2 year old at Great Basin National Park. Anyone who has children knows it's absolute torture for everyone involved to be trapped in a 4x4 space with a child for a few hours let alone a day and a half, so we decided to end... More

First off, Devan was fantastic in helping a confused and tired motorcyclist who was on a crazy road trip. Props to him! Been here many times for gas and food, first time ever staying. Prices were higher than expected for being out in the middle of nowhere. The room felt more like a guest room at someone's house than an... More

The friendliness of the staff was the best part of the stay. Second was the fact that you can turn off the light outside your room so it doesn't shine in through the curtains. The room was pitch black and silent, qualities I almost never get at a motel. There was even a nice collection of local brochures. The room... More

This hotel by no means is what most would rate a 4 but considering it is near Great Basin National Park and the hotel room was spotless then I think it deserves a Very Good. The hotel part is in Utah and the casino part is in Nevada so you have a few slots you can play. Kinda the best... More

this is the kind of place you see in the old westerns, complete with tumbleweed rolling around the parking lot. I half expected Wyatt Erp or Clint Eastwood to saunter in on his horse. The place is adequate in every way for the fact that it is where it is. The price is extremely low by city standards. If you... More
