These cabins are located right on the lake with plenty of room to roam and explore. Close to Grand Marais and the Gun Flint so it was easy to hike all day and return to this location for a hot shower and a comfortable bed. the only reason for giving this a 4 rating instead of a 5 rating is... More

Paula: Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts about your stay at Thomsonite Beach. I do apologize that we missed restocking the towels upon your arrival, it was as you said an oversight and was noted during our housekeeping the next day. We also are looking into adding another piece of furniture to help with the seating... More

We loved our time at the Thompsonite Inn! It is a small, comfortable Inn, run by a very nice family that went out of their way to make us feel at home. (Even brought an extra blanket to our room one chilly night.) It is totally quiet and feels remote, even thought its just off the highway. The grounds are wonderful,... More

Duane: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Thomsonite Beach Inn. The best marketing we can have is when our guests tell their stories about what they like about our place, what we have to offer and the area that we get to call home. It lends credibility to what we say advertise. We hope it... More

We stayed at Thomsonite Beach for a week in early June and loved every part of our stay. Lee and Scott made sure our every need was met, and even anticipated a few and took care of those without ever being asked. We stayed in #7 - used the fireplace almost every night, had coffee and other beverages in front... More

We stayed two nights at the Thomsonite Beach Inn while on an Up North trip. The owners, Lee and Scott, were gracious, very well informed about trails nearby and things to see and do in Grand Marais. Our room was nicely appointed (coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave), clean and tidy. We were on the second floor and had a private deck,... More

Thank you for taking the time to tell potential guests about our Inn. We really appreciate it when our guests do this as it helps others to make a choice based on others experiences and not just what we tell them. I love the part of my job when I go for hikes or ski for instance, so I can... More

My girlfriend and I stayed here 3/14/14 thru 3/16/14 as part of a Lutsen ski package. What a nice place, absolutely no complaints. Inn keeper Lee was such a nice woman and very knowledgable about the area. We stayed in room 11 which is nearest the front driveway. One room with queen bed and one bathroom. Both were perfectly clean.... More

We love to share our little slice of paradise here on the North Shore. I am pleased you enjoyed your stay and accommodations. I know that Rip would love to play catch this summer. As you may know, there are so many fun activities available in our area. If not, I am sure we can find some to add to... More

We just returned from a New Year's winter vacation to Grand Marais to do some skiing at Lutsen Mountain. Our family of four stayed in Unit 7 which had a living room with a fireplace (we used it every day because it was so cold during our stay, -20 degrees). The kitchen had a dining area which was terrific for... More

My husband and I stayed here again this year! Love this place--unpretentious, comfy, clean, and the owners Lee and Scott know everything there is to know about the Superior Hiking Trails! Conveniently located to great restaurants, vistas, hiking...I highly recommend staying here when visiting the North Shore!

I was on vacation with two friends and trying to keep costs low. My friend had called and talked to one of the owners who suggested a two bedroom suite. My husband and I have been staying at Thomsonite nearly every summer for 10 years and will not consider any other place on the North Shore! It probably is a good place to stay, but I'll never know. They wouldn't honor a confirmed reservation from their own online reservation system. Evidently they are unable to program all their fine print rules into their reservation system so it accepts requests contrary to their own rules and they can cancel your confirmed reservation without much of a warning.... We appreciate when our guests let us know when we need to provide better service.
